It's kind of misleading, in a way. Some, if not most of those events, appeal to certain segments of the larger Ensenada society and arn't really designed to entertain everybody, that is, except your Coronation, Deno. Who in their right mind would miss that?

Ensenada is a big city and there's a lot going on.

shari - 6-7-2011 at 07:42 AM

dang....missed the mushroom festival!!!
hey dennis...I'll be in your barrio in a couple days...maybe a little happy hour is in order!!...my guess is you wont be hosting the hockey party right??

DENNIS - 6-7-2011 at 07:57 AM

Gimme a holler.
Hockey??? What's that???

Ascending to what position? When and where does this event
take place? Does one need to reserve a seat?

August is more fun there. I hope to hook up with Terry for the wine fest.

my 1st wife died from mushrooms.
my 2nd from a hammer blow to the head.
she refused to eat the mushrooms....
- the late great Foster Brooks.

Test. This is a test.

Wow DENNIS.....can't slip one pass you, can't I?

I was curious as to what detail we all here read of these postings.

I would just love being called ruler of Baja......

For Shari and Nena who missed it, here are a few photos of a wonderful afternoon at Sunday's mushroom festival. ABC bus from TJ was (USD) $24 roundtrip, leaving every half hour. Basic ticket card for the event was $14 and was good for many menu items plus a wine sample, can of beer and a coke. It was generous and smaller ticket cards could also be had for $5.50. I have gone other years and this was their 14th annual. Open to all!!!

Early hours of the festival (above)

Fantastic food offerings from the local gourmet restaurants:

University mycology display booth and students:

It got pretty crowded in mid afternoon and a bit of shade on the sidelines was good:

Cursory walkthrough by the soldier on the way home:

How can 2 occupy the Throne at the same time?
Is this some sort of Mcfez Coup? Or did DK stepdown voluntarily? strictly for humor

BajaBlanca - 6-7-2011 at 03:28 PM

that mushroom festival looks decadent ... such a beautiful array of food.

I'm a little slow on the rebound, but no. I missed it.
I'll tell you what's happening though. I think it's UABC that offers a "Learn to be a Chef" curriculum and they're machine gunning chefs out the front door just like their Marine Biology program.
There's no way in the world this city, with the depressed tourism economy can employ all the chefs they train, so they just keep experimenting.
The Marine Science situation is the same. They graduate and there's nothing for them to do, so they take whatever job they can find.
