Thanks Rodger for your contributions here. Lots of effort to document your experiences and travels. Some of us are throughly entertained and look forward to more of your adventures, in Baja or on the road. And for those who don`t give a crap--- Just don`t read what you don`t care about.

The board is definitely a less entertaining place without Pompano's posts. I also look forward to him resuming after he winds up his fishing trip "up north". Hope to see lots of Walleye and Northern pictures.

All right, looking at the topic, it seems to create an issue. It came to light several months ago!
So why not start another thread?
It can contain two areas, one just because we hate Pompano, or two support him.
In reality he is a contributor for many years and has an interesting take and presentation of his life in Baja.
Gee can we not enjoy the forums? A forum is a disscussion and illumination of life, hopefully!

fishing, boating, playing Texas holdem, BBQing, shopping with co-pilot, and taking her out to dinner, taking pictures of what he and she "see's".. traveling around _________ on a vacation up north....

Hate to think of all the work he has to do.. to put it all up... but, sure enjoy the fee ride and commentary... and I don't even know the big guy ...

Maybe, it was just the way it came out at the time...

I really understand how so many of you guys have enjoyed Roger's posts, which are always replete with photos.

However, the goat made the point that I didn't. Roger's stuff was really an exercise in narcissisim. Enjoyable to the casual observer, God knows I almost always enjoyed his photos, but always about "look at me". "I'm Roger and you're not".

Maybe you guys have short memories, but it was really just recently that he had a major run-in with the folks in Mulege.

That said, I'll go back to my original post.

I don't miss him all that much. If he has personal issues, I really hope he works that stuff out.

I somehow missed the narcissistic parts of Roger's posts. He has a big life and I thought he described it in a very eloquent and even somewhat self-deprecating way. Never once, when reading his posts, did I pick up any "look at me" attitudes.

So, is your world better if Roger or any of us who share our Baja trips or knowledge here stop doing so? Less is best? Is that what they are teaching today? Instead of going to a site where there is almost nothing to see (many other Baja forums), you stay here where there is more to see and read,... and complain about those who post Baja photos and stories... amazing!

Heck, I see what Roger has and makes me want to work harder to have the same luxury. You youngsters are led to believe you can't have that anymore in America, and want to take it away from those who have earned what they have.

I've been in Mulege for quite awhile - New to posting but a LONG time lurker. I can go see everything that Roger posts about in and around Mulege and I enjoy his comments. I compare them to what I saw at the same places. This is a discussion board to "see" and discuss topics. Roger is great with pictures and comments. What else would you folks want?

Why do not the rest of you "haters of Roger" just go out and do something worth sharing? I am sure your life does not just revolve around what Roger does and how you can criticize him or am I wrong?

Perhaps Doug placed a block on U2Us between us after you flamed out on me that time? As I remember it, you were threatening to go public with my messages to you, which I couldn't quite understand the point of since I used that method to try to keep things civil between us--to no avail.

I'd try sending you one to see if my theory is correct, but don't really care to initiate that type of contact with you any more. I learn my lessons and try not to make the same mistake over. Let's just keep out limited conversations here, please.

Please don't take this the wrong way, Dennis, I really do admire your contributions to this board. I think it just comes down to personality issues between us.

Whew! People. I really hoped that you all could understand the distinction.

As Dennis so aptly wrote, my original post did nor criticized Pompano in any way. merely happened to mention that I was not going to miss his posts.

For those of you who are long time members of this board, I offer you the idea that in recent times, his posts really were not anything like his earlier work. That is the fundamental reason why I posted that I would not miss his contributions.

From what I've seen, in years gone by, Pompano has posted an enormous amount of Travel Channel worth trip reports. Some really great stuff.

But, in my opinion, and I am not in a position to judge, recently, his posts have called to me and told me that he is a good man that is in trouble. Way too self-centered and dripping with the same.

Going back to my original post, guys, read it. I merely stated that I would not miss his posts. Given the self-involved stuff of the past year or so, I stand by my original post.

That said, given that Roger has entertained so many folks on this forum with some incredible posts, I really hope that he will be able to come back and continue that tradition.

I really much prefer a photo journey through Santa Rosalia, than a picture progress of his RV bring repaired.

Unless, en masse, you really think that he's the pied piper.
