HOW TO GET A MEXICAN DRIVER'S LICENSE

BajaBlanca - 6-24-2011 at 02:42 PM

show up at local delegacion

hand over passport

sign a small blank piece of paper

get fingerprint of right thumb, on same signed sheet

answer questions like: your address, your phone #, who to contact in emergency and blood type

get photo taken

after 3 min. get the license and passport

pay up.

************THE END******************

EVEN 18 year olds do not take a written/driving test here !!! AT 16, you can get a permit.
I need glasses to drive but photo was taken w/out glasses BE sure to tell them if you have a pickup, it is a "chauffer" license and a bit more expensive.

so easy. took me all of about 15 minutes. take that DMV !!!!

and God help us on the roads ..........

Here in San Quintin they have you go first to the Red Cross to get a blood type test, vital statistics and a vision test. It was quite easy...

Like everything else in Mexico, it depends on where.

When I fist got a license in Rosarito it was pretty much like that. Three years ago with my renewal they wanted proof of residency, An FM3/2 and an eye exam.

Now...Who knows?

yup...easy as pie! The license machine will be in Asuncion tomorrow. One added thing is that you need a chauffeur's license if you ever tow a trailer...even a boat trailer.

When I first got my license in GN, you didnt even have to show any ID...just give them a name and age!!! I thought it would be funny to get one in a name like Marilyn Monroe or Queen elizabeth or something;)

Walk across the border and hail a cab. Any TJ cabbie will sell you one.

You can have your Dog's Blood submitted.

Or, just cross your Heart and hope to die......

As long as you pay.

Why get a fake one when it is so easy to get a real one? What is the cost?

BajaBlanca - 6-25-2011 at 09:44 AM

they took my word for my blood type

cost for chauffer's license was $655 pesos

for a smaller vehicle it was $484 pesos

in 3 years I can get a new pic since mine is UGLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I think it is wonderful that next of kin phone # and name is right on the card.

They asked me if I knew or if I wanted the test.

Cost ?

Price is (thankfully) an Amorphous concept in Mexico.

Usually related to the wallet vs. convenience quotient.

Anyone know where I can do this in TJ? I don't even know where the local DMV is.
