Our ever vigilant Border Patrol

NOTHING gets past them...

Except the #2 most wanted felon in America...

Repeatedly.

Bulger said he and his girlfriend, 60-year-old Catherine Greig, frequently drove to the border, parked on the US side and walked into Tijuana, using a false identification to get through security, the official said.

That it was only a harmless retired octogenarian taking a vacation and not someone who was entering the country with evil intent.

fdt - 6-27-2011 at 10:24 PM

There is no security. It's just words. Anyone and anything gets thru!

He was far from harmless. He also traveled back to Boston several times to settle "unfinished business" armed to the teeth (his words) during that period. He was likely refreshing his cash box because he was down to his last $600K. None of his victims families feel he is harmless either.

Let's cut the Senior Citizen a Break.

While he may have had his flaws (and we Irish are known for our innumerable flaws) of those he killed most, if not all, were in need of killing.

Reminds me of an A & E special years ago on Las Vegas in which Debbie Reynolds said of the Killings now and then in town, "They never killed anybody who didn't deserve it".

and I'm sure he gets a "pass" from you because he was only into the kidnapping and extortion of small businessesmen, not drugs. The Irish and Italian mafia had a code not to involve children, families or the innocent. If only the Mexican narcos had followed that code... but instead they modeled themselves after Scarface, not The Godfather.

Putting the Past Behind

MrBillM - 6-28-2011 at 01:21 PM

Whatever "unfinished business" the Retiree may have been involved in recently, it likely concerned others in the trade.

I think we should let bygones be bygones.

While I realize that they're not going to free Whitey, we should recognize that his "Real" bad days are past and lighten up. Give him a "Club Fed" membership in recognition of his valued work for the Government and let him spend his twilight with TV, Checkers, Cribbage and the like.

Sort of an honorary for being the last of the really Big-Time Irish Hoods.

"I never thought they'd capture him alive or in the country," said Michael Donahue, 42, who was 13 in 1982, when his father was gunned down, allegedly by Bulger.

The elder Michael Donahue had agreed to give a man a ride home from a bar. The man turned out to be an FBI informant; Bulger and an accomplice were waiting outside, and Donahue was killed along with the informant, authorities said.

You're just in the wrong place.

Ask that Busboy who tried to get lucky with OJ's Ex.

I suppose the lesson is: "Don't give a ride to Strangers in a Bar".

Or, something like that.

The busboy was a drug dealer.

Who lost his Head

MrBillM - 6-29-2011 at 11:56 AM

Trolling for Head.

At least.
