Is there a route to bypass ensenada centro when heading south from tecate. When we come into the Ensenada area via Mx 3 seems like our only choice is
Ensenada Centro and the traffic is never good. We are heading to the Mulege area and prefer the Tecate crossing to any of the others. Thanks Ron

The choice is through Centro or along the Costero Blvd. Both can be congested, but the Centro route is more so. Take the Costero road and enjoy the
view.

Thanks Dennis. I think we took the Costero route when we used to cross at Tijuana when heading to Punta Banda but not sure. Is the Costero exit marked
when coming in on Mx3? Thanks Ron

As you approach Ensenada from the north, the split is well signed... 'Centro' is straight or the left lanes and the route for San Quintin and the
tourist zone is to the right... this passes the harbor area and stay to your right, but don't turn off the main blvd. which is 6 lanes wide.
At some point you do turn left (east) to head up to Hwy. 1 southbound... We usually use the street that passes Las Cazuelas restaurant and the
hospital...

Thanks David. I now remember this from prior trips. Thanks again. Ron

I just drove that road yesterday. There is still some road work going on and a few dirt detours. Not bad by any means, but I think I still prefer oing
through Tecate and then taking the toll road to TJ and then pick up hwy 2000 and on south on the mex 1 toll road. Easier drive, time is about the
same, and the road is better.

Thanks Larry. We have gotten into the habit of taking Mx 3 and it is hard to teach us old dogs new tricks. We plan to be in your area on July 8th and
seeing your place either on the 8th or 9th. Ron
