Admitedly, I gave a half-hearted search here, not finding a thread upon which I could piggyback, so I decided to post this info pronto.

For all yoose NOB folks, I just took a trip through my local 99 Cents Only store in Garbage Grove, and came upon a relatively small stock of TJ brewery bottles for sale at 79 cents @. They had Light. Moreno, and Guera.

If anyone out there is close to a 99 Cents Only store, you may think about picking up some.

Plus tax...CRV......So, what's the bottom line on it?
I like TJ Beer. I think it's the Lite that is most hoppy....I think....maybe.

Can't remember the shelf price here at Calimax. 80 Ps for a Six.....I think....maybe.

What do I know? 80 pesos for a six pack? Really? Maybe? :no:

I just remember reading about folks giving thumbs up to this craft brewery, and was really surpised to see their stuff at that store.

It was for sale by the case at Costco for awhile... Their downfall (IMO) was that the only way it came was a case of half Moreno and half Güera... They are both great... but people want to buy a volume of what they prefer to drink... either it be dark or light colored beer.

I will look in my area (Riverside/Moreno Valley). Who knows?? When in Tijuana, I shop for mine at Smart and Final.

Just started stocking TJ beer (including La Bufadora) at the Albertsons here in Eastlake/Chula Vista.

The Mega Comercial grocery store in Rosarito, an easy off and back on to the toll road, always (at least when I check) has bottle six-packs of TJ beer in the cooler that is up front, using the right hand door, just past the bakery.

While good, TJ bottled beer tastes nothing like what you get at the brewery. They also have several different brews available you won't find at a retail market.

IMO, well worth the trip.

Yes, fresh beer at the brewery tavern is fantastic... Much better than the bottled beer, and that is still very good!

It's kinda funny, in a way, that while all the major brewers in the world keep merging, the craft industry is flourishing.

In my opinion, a true beer afficionado should never be drinking the swill coming from the small handful of multinational brewing giants.

Case in point. Anyone living in the Southwest US has probably noticed a big commercial blitz for the beer known as Stella Artois. Stella Artois was at one time a small brewer in Belgium.

So, the international giant InBev buys Anheiser Busch. Next thing you know, Stella Artois brewed in Van Nuys, is all over the place. So much for Belgian Beer. Not to mention, they also brew Kirin there. So much for Japanese Beer, too.

Sad fact is that over the past few years, just about all your fave Mexican beers have been bought up by those same multinational corporations.

Whether you drink Tecate, Pacifico, Modelo, Sol, Bohemia, Gawd, even Corona God forbid, you are purchasing that beer from either the Belgian giant InBev, or from Heinekin.
