It's very good they are not going to activate them for now. They found a legal loophole- imagine that. This deal was something Mayor Torres stuck
the new Mayor with and everyone in town revolted against. They were to collect $1USD an hour on the main boulevard- from the Rosarito Beach Hotel
down to the Smart & Final. All Puerto Nuevo as well. It wasn't necessarily a "bad deal", just bad judgement to proceed after the real estate and
economic collapses here. Torres was thinking the goose that laid the golden eggs would still be here.

"The parking meters installed in the center of Rosarito were closed because the company Copemsa, who has the concession of such devices has not proven
his legal status in order to start its operation. "
ROSARITO, Baja California (PH)
Just hours were in service parking meters that are installed in the City Center area, after the Department of Urban Control of the City ordered its
closure. Jose Carlos Gay, head of the agency, explained the company has not established its legal status in order to initiate the operation of parking
meters, which was determined according to legal council, and they have been marked as closed. He said there is great dissatisfaction by citizens,
particularly the commercial sector, who demand that the meters are removed from the city and in the petition seeking legal remedies to reverse the
provision that authorized the company Copemsa during the past administration. But he added that the closure of parking meters, for the moment, only
because the representative of this company could not prove their legal status so they can start with the provisions of the grant and that there are
developments in the legal process to finalize this matter."
