Yellowstone and Montana (part 2)

tripledigitken - 7-19-2011 at 07:07 PM

No, I'm not going to show a picture of Old Faithful, but I found some other photogenic hot water.

In the valley is the town of Ennis, MT near the west entrance to Yellowstone, with the Madison River running through it.

Not far from Ennis are two old mining towns Virginia City and Nevada City.

looking at these I'll bet those cowboys liked their women folk in high heels

you can stay in one of these old cabins in Nevada City

or this one with the cactus roof

I never pass up an old rusty car/truck

Lake McDonald in Glacier NP

I wasn't the only one trying to capture the moment......

Glacier NP, Two Medicine Lake

our camping spot on the Flathead River in Kalispell, MT for a week
(within 2' of flood while we were there)

Thanks so much for the comments, glad you liked them.

You live in a beautiful part of Montana. We have friends that have a house on the north end of Swan Lake. Have you seen the Kootenai Lodge project?

The geyser basin, hot pots and pools, the beautiful mineral colors surrounding. When in Yellowstone, I am mesmerized by them. Thank you, Ken, for reminding me of their beauty.

The rest of the pix are excellent, too, amigo.
