very cool observation by urchin! it does have that look. I forget the name of the pink ones (and I guess too lazy to google it)...bloom at night?

The second plant is Manfreda maculosa (Texas Tuberose, Deciduous Agave)....the first one kind of looks like the Pregnant Onion Plant that was popular
in the 70s (Ornithagalum I think) but I don't see any of the little baby bulbs clinging to the outside of the main bulb.

Mexitron - there were tons of bulbs and I replanted them ...leaving those ones you still see. thanks very much for the info. Just got 5 new plants
today in a trade and if I can't find their names, I will be turning to all of youse.
I know, this year the garden has just been amazing ... the more guests we have the more I can water them (we recycle the agua from showers and sinks),
this has made a BIG difference. As you can tell, we have been busy 'cause I have water
Interesting that you should mention, Mexitron, that the pregnant onion plant was popular in the 70's - believe it or not, I got it from an estate sale
in San Diego probably 7 years ago or more. And it looked like the lady had had it forever .... probably since the 70's. It loves Baja.
Now that pink one - queen of the desert - this is the FIRST time it has bloomed. I got it from San Ignacio maybe 4 years ago. The bloom looks gorgeous
only one day but there are so many, who cares !!

Blanca: thanks for more wonderful flowers from your garden. When you posted a photo of the plant with the pink flowers earlier, I thought the leaves
were fern-sized, not as large as they are, seeing a hand in the photo. What was the approx. diameter of the flowers? They look huge!
Did you get to see the photos I posted on your previous post "My neighbor's frangrant cactus flower" of recent photos of my neighbors amazing

ecomujeres, the whole plant is huge - the flowers are easily 4 inches on the red part plus the bulb another inch and stem another inch or so... here
is a photo of the whole plant.
many more flowers to come but they only really last one full day
my orchid has decided it does not want to be left out of the fun:
this is a new one .. maybe one of you know it's identity ?
