Where does one go to apply for "seguro popular" health plan in La Paz?
If anyone has the address and any tips it would be much appreciated.

There's an office out on Avenida de los Deportistas, the boulevard near Soriana's where the new Palacio Municipal, the fire hall, the Hipodromo, the
new stadium for American Football and, eventually the new Salvatierra Hospital are all located on. The Seguro Popular office is on the left side of
the street heading south, about half way down before reaching the stop sign by the gymnasium. I don't have the number handy, but if nobody else has
answered it more precisely, I'll get it for you tomorrow.

OK, here's how you find the offices of the local Seguro Popular.
Heading East on Colosio (away from the waterfront), take the last right before reaching the stop light at Forjadores (Soriana's is on the left). Go
down past all the municipal hall buildings and parking (fire hall on the left), until you are directly in front of the Velodromo (on the right), where
there's a break in the center divide of the boulevard. On the left side of the boulevard are two different parking lots in front of white buildings
labelled Unidad de Especialidad Medicas. You want to go into the first parking lot you can, directly in front of the U turn break.
The Seguro Popular offices are behind the first two buildings you come to in that parking lot.
What you need to enroll are: a valid ID (such as your passport), proof of a local address (such as electric bill or phone bill in your name), and
finally, the CURB, which, if you don't already know, is the Mexican equivalent of our own social security number. To get the CURB, you do need to have
an FM-2. I think the FM-3 will also work, but since I used the former, that is the only one I can state with certainty. The CURB is available at the
local civilian registrar's office. They also have that "modulo" in the Soriana Mall where they are also issued.
Once you have those items and go to enroll, they will do a socio-economic study of your case to determine how much you should pay.
