TIJUANA — A U.S. citizen from Orange County who is accused of abducting her three sons in 2007 was arrested in Tijuana on Wednesday, and expected to
be turned over to U.S. authorities.
The three boys, an eleven-year-old and two nine-year-old twins were found with their mother, identified as Jennifer A. Lopez. Their father, Brian
Miller, is the son of U.S. Rep. Gary Miller, R-Orange County.
Tijuana’s public safety secretary, Gustavo Huerta, announced the arrest on Wednesday night at a police substation where Lopez was being held with
George DeJongh, who has been identified in news reports as her husband.
Lopez, DeJongh and the boys were found in the Mesa de Otay section of Tijuana, Huerta said, through the combined efforts of U.S. and Mexican law
enforcement authorities.
Mexican authorities said Lopez has an outstanding arrest warrant in the United States, and that she will handed over to U.S. law enforcement
officials.
U.S. news accounts at the time of the boys' disappearance said that Lopez and Brian Miller had been involved in a bitter custody dispute. The reports
said that Lopez fled with the boys after losing sole custody of them, and ignored a court order that she turn them over to their grandfather.
