DORADO!

vacaenbaja - 8-16-2011 at 08:36 PM

I have heard that the Dorado are biting in BOLA.
It is hot at 113F, but according to my sources the bite is
on! Wish I could go now but my next window of opportunity
is Labor Day Weekend, and I don't know if the fish will hold that long. So if Dorado is on your list find out if this rumor is true and if so get on down there and give us a report.

Thats what I am talking about, real time action. My info
came from Raquel and Larry's. They said lots of lots of
limts on Dorado, bear in mind limit is 2 per angler per day.
But the fish were there in quantity and not far out in the channel.
And yes it is all about timing at BOLA wind, bait water temperature, etc.

Just got back from a Labor Day stay at BOLA. Man was it hot!
It must have been over 100F Man was it hot!! the fishing that is. WIDE OPEN DORADO throwing distance to shore. You had your choice of very fiesty yellowtail or plentyfull Dorado.
The first day we got in town at 6am and went straight to fishing. Went half yellowtail limits half Dorado. The second day we chose to fish just Dorado. Caught out limits and released a bunch more. They were chewing on live bait, and
trolled albacore feathers. We just trolled or cast live bait
along the shore going north. Fished with RAFA CUEVAS, a
great skipper. I have never had a bad outing with this
captain. His boat is not the newest or bigest but he KNOWS
where to find the fish. While everyone was headed out
long distances we were hooking up close in. So the bite did hold out until Labor Day. Looks like it will be a good year for yellowtail. The ones we caught were a bit on the slim side but pleanty big. Put up a real good fight for their weight. Stayed at Raquel
and Larrys where we BBQed steaks and enjoyed a nip of
Pyrat rum while smoking cigars and staring at the stars.
