great video, thanks.
send that rain my way, I'd love some of it. all we got in Loreto was some wind.

ncampion - 8-19-2011 at 05:59 AM

Got the wind here in Loreto, but no rain. Wish we would get some wet stuff, pretty dry here. It did cool things down a bit, so that's good.

The patio is a nice addition to your place, good to see it held up in the high winds.

Wow! At least it wasn't as bad as the July 5 dust storm in Phoenix:

Muchas mas limpia

Bob and Susan, do you have a weather station at your location? I am curious to know how the wind speed and rainfall at your place yesterday compares with the data collected at the weather station in (downtown?) Mulege? That station recorded a mere 0.04 inches of total precipitation and a maximum wind gust of 30 miles per hour.

the offical mulege weather station
in mulege is at my cocineras casa...
they got alot of wind and NO rain

in town today... it looked normal

out here on the beach LOTS of water
puddles everywhere
muddy

the wind was about 60mph
it lasted an hour and a half
and buckets of rain

very hurricane-like

today its clear
not a cloud
and SUNNY and HOT

it did cool us down for the night but thats over
hot again

the pool will take all weekend to clear
all the big debris was taken out today
then we'll need to clean the de filter

it never ends

jakecard - 8-19-2011 at 02:30 PM

Interesting, thanks.

jaja....one of our workers called us and said it was,"worse than jimena!"....how quickly we forget!

CFE said only 4 palms down. 2 here, 2 next door and one by the mission. Winds were fierce, guessing 50 mph. Took a 6 x 8 ft Tecate sign down, all the pool furniture went 50 yds, took my awning out of my hands and debri everywhere. River road has a bit of debris, but nothing serious, just a few palm fongs. Rain was a very pleasant relief.

Bob and Susan - 8-20-2011 at 03:24 AM

yea its really funny how just a few miles will make

the water is receeding now

its sunny and clear
well it will be ( too early now)

breeze is about 3mph

the town look like nothing happened yesterday
but alot of people were talking about the wind

boats were on the bay yesterday
amazing place

Report from Colonia Loma Azul

Mulegena - 8-20-2011 at 08:11 AM

Mulege neighborhood on the hill, north river road out to the lighthouse:
no rain.
big honkin' winds.
two roofs lifted and gone, a la Wizard of Oz.

wow! This was only a chubasco, children.
An isolated and unexpected event.
Baja's a fabulous, magical land and I call it home, but I'll tell ya' its not for the faint of heart, imo.

No rain in Loma Azul? Then what changed the half inch of polvo in my bathroom to a quarter inch of lodo when the tiles blew off? :?:
