Greetings fellow Nomads. I'm finally off the sidelines and registered. I figure I can keep the numbers up if Germanicus' decision is final. Anyway,
am looking forward to sharing the Baja experience with you all. This forum and Fred's site are the best.

At least you say who and where you are and give your e-mail which is more than a lot do.
Advise as Skeet says: Don't call people liars whom you don't know for a fact are.Which is a fact Germanicus could not get.
Mistakes, yes. False statements maybe.

Do you have Baja Fever?
Here's how you can tell:
Is there a Baja map on your wall?
Did you buy a 4WD and not because of snow?
Are there sea shells in your yard, yet you don't live on the beach?
Do you take mashed patatoes and shape them to look like the peninsula?

Though I always imagine that other sea brids call them "friggin' birds" because they tend to steal the others' fresh catch!

don?t fret. You can?t get rid of me that easily. I?m gonna have to check this forum more often, and daydream about Malarrimo less.
As for some of my adventures, the most recent was last month. After packing and checking and rechecking we (my girlfriend, dog, and myself) were
heading south for two weeks of exploration and relaxation. Some friends were flying into Cabo in a week, and we were going to stay with them, and
take a short break from our beach camping itinerary.
A late start had us arrive at Cielito Lindo after the restaurant closed. We had hoped to break open some of those legs, but our drooling would have
to wait for the return trip north. We pitched the tent, fed ourselves (Pacificos mandatory), and dreamed under the Milky Way of the days ahead?

We rose early on this day as many vados lay between us and our destination. I don?t care for those really long driving days, but this was going to be
one of them. Our goal was for the beaches near El Conejo, well south of our present location. Swarms of mosquitoes were having their way with my
dog?s vulnerable underbelly, and making a pin cushion out of me. I had to practice my rapid Tai Chi just to keep them at bay. A hasty retreat was in order. With the tent packed, breakfast would have to be
juice and oatmeal squares on the road. This was my first visit to Cielito Lindo. Are the mosquitoes usually common in August?
As the morning drive progressed, we headed inland at El Rosario and soon were without the coastal marine layer which had often necessitated the best
in Highway 1 precautions. I always know I?ve ?officially? made it to Baja when I see my first cirio tree. The area in and around Catavina is covered
with them. There was a new sign (at least to me) designating this area as Valle de Cirios. Does anyone know the particulars of this?
An early lunch was had at a beach just north of Guerrero Negro. It was protected by embankments of cobblestones, but the waterline was sandy.
Gulping down my sandwich, I wondered how such a beautiful place could be so deserted. My Baja mindset adjustments were still in progress. With time
I would come to realize there are many places in Baja like this?.many places I would have to see?.
