Useless rain

tehag - 8-26-2011 at 07:27 PM

Yesterday morning when I took this shot in Loreto it really looked like it was going to rain in earnest, but as you can see in the pic most of it was re-evaporating before it got to the surface. Sigh, still very dry.

do you know, for the last 2 days we have heard so much thunder. and we saw lightning lighting up the sky last night. just makes it hotter and more humid here. please can I have our regular weather back ?

WOOOOOW....I think that is my favorite photo in a long time here...just stunning. It looked like that here yesterday and I ran around covering up cement etc...thunder, lightening, a wind whipped up and big drops started falling...and....and....that was about it...a few minutes of big drops...didnt even wet the ground...dang.

Oh, I don't know ....

What would Turner's landscapes be without clouds.

That's a really a gorgeous sunrise!
It's 2:30 in the morning and I'm sitting out another chivasco.

About the same time, across the peninsula... Aug 26,11

The blue was not your regular ol' blue sky- spectacular and no color enhancing needed ! It looked like photos of earth's atmosphere you see taken from the space or the view up the eye of a hurricane.

... and yes, I know this is a sunrise not sunset but the quotation is pertinent whatever time of day, I believe.
