SENTRI Interview... Questions?

BooJumMan - 9-3-2011 at 09:17 AM

Well, after applying for my SENTRI pass over 3 months ago, I've finally got my interview setup. What exactly do they ask, and do? Even with the background check, can they turn you down? Just curious on what to expect I guess...

After waiting 2 hours past the time of my scheduled niterview I was turned down for failing to report that I was booked and figerprinted FOR DRIVING WITH LOUD EXHAUST PIPES IN 1957.:fire::fire:

It's really not bad at all. I think it's more so they get to see you in person to make sure everything matches up with the paper work. Your vehicle will be inspected and the pass put on the windshield. No real difficult questions unless you're trying to hide something. You should already be approved and I think it would be highly unusual to get turned down at this point. Don't stress out over it. Just go get it done and you'll be soooo happy this time next year. It really makes every trip to Mexico much more enjoyable.....:bounce:.. Welcome to the SENTRI pass lane. See ya there......;D

durrell, if you are serious about that you can fight it. I have a neighbor, in her 70's, who had a dui about 30 years ago and she raised a stink and got her SENTRI-
Just be patient-for us it ended up being an all day affair which was totally unnecessary but that's just the way it is.........good luck

Thought I read it is at their discretion whether they accept an application or not and if they do turn you down, you don't get a refund. Don't think fighting them for a refund is a good decision either. After reading the application and requirements, it looked like ANY involvement with LE would jeopardize an application -- that would include traffic violations, etc.

I was turned down last year...In the 60's and 70's I was an undercover guy and killed a judges son in total self defense in a drug sting.....You all may know how it is with folks like me...maybe not..Anyway they as much as told me never to count on getting the pass....Oh well...We're happy this side of the chaos...so it's OK...I guess..No pas for Lalo...I'll walk across:tumble::tumble::lol::lol:

Would think that Krafty's example shows there is some degree in flexibility on this... believe they would "review" it cases by cases if an appeal for denial were issued..

As most Laws and Regulations.. policy, guide lines, MOU's ... have an appeal process.. built in which would allow for varied interpretation based on individual circumstances...

Give it a try ... all they can say is no.... and you already heard that ...

It's worth a try... if you have a real need .. and you do ... IMHO

Of course, application fees are nonrefundable.
