Otherwise I will probably hang on to it...I would just rather see it in the hands of someone worthy of the history in it.

Thank you for asking!!! I have it (more than one copy in fact)... all three editions (1970, 1972, 1974) and have posted those great maps Cliff drew here on Nomad, too.

Paranewbi---------------that is a classic on Baja, and I also have it. I would definitely hang on to that particular book as it has some very unique info in it, and is good reading besides.

All the "Cliff Cross" books are great--------I have one on mainland-Mexico also, and tho more general it is also a classic.

Volume 18 of the Baja California Travel Series, title above, by Michael Mathes is dedicated to this event. The strength of the Mathes book is that Mathes presents accounts by three eyewitnesses to this affair. One version is an English account, two accounts were from (1) the captain of the Santa Ana and (2) one of the seamen aboard the Santa Ana.

Thank You all for your appreciation of my post.

It means a lot to me as a new person on this forum to be able to contribute something meaningful. You have contributed much to me as a Baja Nomad and I am an avid lurker.

I do pick up the San Diego Reader when I am in the area but mostly for the American Apparel glossy advertisement on the back cover. I tear it off and hang it in my van. Unfortunately after I get my collection going well I go back down and the young men at the military stops beg one or the other of the set and I end up with naked walls generally by GN.

They are real fans of American Apparel I guess and am quite pleased to see such cross-border interest in culture and products.

This article just caught my eye, should be more next week so look out for it, don't know if I will still be here. Glad it was of interest.
