How many washboards must a man drive down
before they can call him a man?

Mulegena - 10-6-2011 at 08:31 AM

"She's got everything she needs.
She's a Baja Babe and she don't look back!
Take the dark out of the nighttime
an' all the fish out of the sea!"

Bob Dylan 'n Baja

John M - 10-6-2011 at 12:17 PM

A buddy of mine bought an old Jeep owned and driven by Bob Dylan. After he had it couple of years I talked him into taking the Jeep to Baja. I've got a photo of it here somewhere. Just an old beat up Jeep. A year later we took it across the Rubicon Trail.

So that is sort of a Dylan connection with Baja.

You're gettin' pretty good at this. Did you miss your calling?

DENNIS - 10-6-2011 at 02:00 PM

I really enjoyed this Franky Perez version and I know people have been opening it here. When we started today, the hit count was 89. Now it's 167. I assume most, if not all, got the link here.

Not everybody likes it, however. I sent it to Dra. Janene and she said it was terrible. That's OK. She can listen to Alice Cooper and I'll listen to Franky Perez.

EnsenadaDr - 10-6-2011 at 05:19 PM

Wow Dennis, its up to 167, you have a MONSTER hit...

It would not be able to make it back across with all of the POT seeds that were lost in the floor boards and in the seats.

Never understood the draw of Dylan? Bad harp player and out of key singer.

dtutko1 - 10-7-2011 at 07:20 AM

Thanks Dennis, very nice!

I think it was in the sixties that the younger generation realized it was Ok to be less than their parents thought they should be.....in tune, so to speak.
"Los Tiempos Van Cambiando" is how they explained it all.

[actually, it all probably started in the 50's with the Beatniks]

DENNIS - 10-7-2011 at 07:49 AM

Makes me wonder what the personality of the young generation would be today had it not been for Viet Nam.

Just makes me wonder....that's all.

Interesting posit. Great fodder for an off-topic thread.

IMHO, given the time and distance, what with so many Viet Nam era folks growing old and feeble, or gone, just mayhaps what is happening in the streets of major cities in the US today, would do those old farts proud.

Cypress - 10-7-2011 at 04:04 PM

This old fart isn't proud of 'em. Proud? For what?

tripledigitken - 10-7-2011 at 04:10 PM

Feeble? Your circle of friends and acquaintances must have really abused themselves!

:o

KASHEYDOG - 10-7-2011 at 05:07 PM

NICE, Dennis  Thanks I really enjoyed that.
Not that I'm feeble but everything makes me wonder these days. Like what did I come in here for ???
OH yeah, I wanted to check the Nomad site.
Oh, I just did !!.......

BTW, Dennis. It was fun meeting you last week at Sharkey's

Thanks Dick. I heard you guys honk when you went by [think it was you anyway] and quietly wished you luck in Rosarito. Hope they treated you well at El Nido.

Pleasure was mine, by the way.
Hasta Luego.

Howard only says that you should be proud that you're feeble.
I have to agree. I'm proud that you're feeble. Congratulations on your feebllity.

I remember that paean to the Lengua Tacos that his Jewish Irish Nigerian German Mexican mother used to put in his little lunch pail. He was the envy of the school yard. Lucky boy.
