Just thought I'd take a shot in the dark to ask if anyone knows of jet ski rentals for concepcion bay. We're not speed demons, just looking for a compact way to cruise through the bays for exploring and sight seeing on the water.

You want to go to Cabo. In Cabo you can get a parachute tow and lots of other things. :biggrin:

Hehe, yeah, I'm not really the Cabo type, though admitedly, I've never been there. We just want to putt-putt around the bays without using manpower (kayaks). Looking forward to just lazing around. :-)

I'm sure a panga and guide can be arranged for a nice quiet day on the bay. Maybe drop you on a beach for a few hours, snorkel around some of the islands.

I remember the very first jet-ski we ever saw in Coyote Bay. It was one of our neighbors, Cher...a nice gal.

Everyone lined up on my seawall......

.....and mooned her.

p.s. bajaboolie, on jet-skiing in the Bay? I am sure you are a responsible user, but it's not something to encourage ...

....because of whale-sharks, whales, porpoise, bait schools, marine birds, swimmers, snorklers, kayakers, and whatever on the surface. At Easter-time in particular, many irresponsible jet-ski operators seem to find great joy in harassing anything in or on the water. Hence, anyone who loves and respects Nature....have learned to really hate the damn things. Not all users are that way, but it's the uncaring idiots that sterotype the activity for all other jet-skiers.

A small cartopper, inflatable, kayak or pull-behind 16ft cat is your best bet to explore all the truly beautiful islands and remote beaches.

If you can't find one or rent one reasonable, stop by mi casa at Km 108 and I'd be glad to take you both for a day's bay ride. Clothing is optional. You bring the cold beer and a sammy.

{Edit: Well, shucks...humor police are on that one, too.."Clothing is optional" Should I just say to heck with giving advice, mind my own business....and delete the whole dang post? WAIT! HOLD THE PHONE!!! I've got a better idea. I'll 'streak' up and down Coyote Beach! That should drive away all the jet-skiers!!..and maybe those Pesc-ky humor police. :rolleyes:

I think Pomp has been in the north country way too long. First he talks about mooning and then wants to take you out on the boat for a days ride, clothing optional. I know Roger and this picture is not one that is conducive to "Beauty in Conception Bay" . :no:

I seldom see anybody riding jet-ski's slowly, and therefore cannot see what is at, or just below, the surface of the sea very well. Folk's in fishing boats are normally going much more slowly (!?!?!), but of course not all the time. Personally, fishing boats don't bother me much, but jet ski's can be pretty obnoxious, mostly from the noise & often disregard for those around them. But that's just me, of course.

i am surprized Bob Frambe doesn't add a couple of wave runners to his fleet for guests rentals? seems like harmless fun to me.
probably a lot more headache and maintenance than they're worth tho.
plus if someone breaks down 10 miles out.... woo boy...

jet ski rentals will run around 35-45 per hour...pending the town you have landed in. For that price.....just get a electric motor for the kayak :-)

Less damage for sure, no lower unit with a prop on a Personal Water Craft (jet ski, seadoo, waverunner, etc...)

We own PWC's and are very responsible with them but like any thing there are always those who are wreckless with any type of transportation.

Jet ski/wave runners are loud, obnoxious, and totally worthless. As far as the people that use 'em? I'll cut 'em some slack. Have used 'em myself! They're fun! A conundrum! But? They're loud, obnoxious, and totally worthless.

The "jet ski's" you may be use to have been replaced with more cleaner burning quieter models.

These models are 4 stroke, fuel injected, and inter-cooled, and yes, lots of fun.

I have to agree they are a total kick in the burro! Had one for several years, as well as a ski boat. After 3 or 4 seasons in Havasu and Mojave, I sold them both. Mainly because of the other burros at the river, on and off the water. Also, the constant DUI checkpoints on the water are a one way ticket to the hoosegow!!!

we had a few sea doos too here
but the maintence is too great

we love the new ones
4 strokes
very quiet and fast
a water motorcycle

there are a few that come once and a while
they are not too bad

people pay alot for these things and dont like to put them in salt water
the salt does take its toll

we have a 15 foot metal bay-boat for guests
its free with at least 2 nights stay

its way better and uses way less gas
which is included : )

Looks like I started this post too soon before my trip south. I'm there and back already! Pompano, wish we could have taken you up on the nice offer. I think our times in Coyote don't overlap; over the years we've walked down the bay and I've never seen you. Maybe next year (we head down just before the 2nd week of October.).

Anyway, Bob and Susan, that boat looks great, and would certainly fit our needs. So would BajaWarriors machines. Like I mentioned before, we just want a casual cruise around the bays and islands. I can see how jetskis can cause damage when used to their "full potential".

Have to admit: I was a little curious if I'd catch flack for posting this question because of the controversy. I'm happy to see that everyone has been so well behaved!

Yup, not in Coyote too many Octobers...just 3 or 4 in the last..well...a lot of years! I'm usually found a few thousand miles north of Baja in Sept-Oct. Not to worry about the jet ski objections...the more people like you using them responsibly in the Bay, the more they will be accepted.

Why not come to our Bay from Nov to June? Cold ones are on me. Hasta la vista.
