I've been unfortunate enough to have tried to travel the peninsula on this day.
Not a good Idea! Anyone know if the holliday/parades will be on Saturday the 19th or Sunday the 20th?

I asked the same question awhile back with no response. Last year we were held up by 4 parades...all quite entertaining but made for a long day of
travel.Martyman - 10-7-2011 at 09:54 AM
We also got hung up on the multiple parades in N. Baja last year. I have never seen so many Pancho Villas!!Phil C - 10-10-2011 at 04:29 PM

Nov. 20th is One of the best picture taking days of the year.
WARNING......

Read my lips....NEVER try going anywhere on the 20th! We left San Quintin at 9AM on that day ....
We finally made it to Ensenada at 5PM...YES...8 hours...that's E-I-G-H-T HOURS!
Parade after parade where they block off Hwy 1 TOTALLY. In these little places there is NO "get-a-round"...dozens of cars were trying....NADA! Some
of the carts pulled by a tractor or donkey were 10 minutes apart...blank!...nothing for 10 minutes or more while you sit and sit and sit. We saw 5
parades that day.Phil C - 11-2-2011 at 02:56 PM

"WE don't need no stinking parades" Just cold beer beside the road, oh yes with a designated driver,LOL!! Have done the Easter Thing down to San
Felipe and the traffic was really bad---Did I say REALLY BAD and that was years ago, No Mas on these holidays!! Take Care&Travel Safe--"No
Hurry, No Worry, Just FUN" bajafun777Shaner - 11-3-2011 at 08:19 AM
How hard will it be to get thru Ensenada from San Diego on Nov. 18th with the Baja 1000 going? plan on leaving around noon.
I've been to the start of the baja 250 and that was alot of people just trying to figure out when I should leave SD to get to San Quintin before
sunset.shari - 11-3-2011 at 09:29 AM
revolution day is my favorite holiday in mexico as it is so colourful, historical and the fiestas they have are old fashioned...the food is the best
as it is cooked over open fires, the old way....soooo....plan to visit a village fiesta if you are down here...you wont be disappointed!Bajaboy - 11-3-2011 at 09:30 AM

Sounds like a good time. Will there be a trashbag brigade at the parade?shari - 11-3-2011 at 08:20 PM
here the kids celebrated halloween on Oct.30th....I guess it all works out in the end.
that is the thing about living here...answers to questions about future events are difficult to answer....one avoids answering because so many things
could happen, do happen....changes are made at the last minute, dates shift...reality shifts....it kind of forces one to live in the here and now and
not worry about future events...planning is loose or non existant so one isnt disappointed if the plan doesnt come to fruition.
People often ask about dates of fiestas and celebrations and I ask the "authorities" and event planners....they usually avoid answering because when
they do give a date, it often changes due to a myriad of circumstances....which makes it real hard for gringos to attend as they like to plan their
vacations, routes and mark things in their agendas far in advance...nope this aint Kansas.mcfez - 11-4-2011 at 05:27 AM
