Jay,

My wife and I paddled from Mulege to La Paz and went around Carmen and Espiritu Santo last spring. It was amazing! Didn't make it to San Jose, but I really want to go back. It sounds like you've done plenty of paddling out there yourself, but if you have any specific questions I'd be happy to try and help.

We used this guidebook and it was pretty good:

"the guide to Baja sea kayaking"

Have fun, I wish I was heading back right now.

If you really want to see what BAJA paddling is all about - get this book, which is out of print book since it was published int he 30's, from amazon:

ENCHANTED VAGABONDS

It is one of the most incredible adventure books on Baja and paddling that I have ever encountered.

good luck and if you want a quiet kayak ride, visit la bocana and the estero - it is 10 miles of lagoon which is great for kayaking. and of course, drop by to say hello to Blanca and Les ... askfor Blanca de las bicis, any kid will know where to find me !!
