Hi
My Wife and I would like to donate a medium sized (like 10-13 cu/ft) fridge to our park Forestales station. They have ok facilities, but only have a
generator for electricity, so they have no way to keep perishables cool for the week on week off shift they cycle through. Any ideas on where to get a
decent propane fridge in Ensenada?

Start hunting at the "Globos" a few blocks off Reforma. Eventually you will find almost anything there.

There used to be a guy named Victor somewhere around Km 72? on the toll road. He did have a ton of good used stuff ..but I have not looked him up in
some time. Might have 'moved on' by now.
I bought 2 great big ol Servels from him...worked for many years on my outside patio. They weighed about as much as an aircraft carrier, so were safe
from theft.

For an electric fridge powered by solar, I use a smaller 10cft Whirlpool that I bought in La Paz. It is fairly efficient and uses little power to keep
things cool. When in normal mode, it drawsa about 3-4 amps on my Trace 4500 inverter meters gauge. Also Mabe makes another low-energy electric fridge.
Gas models are of course ideal. Sunfrost and Sol make solar fridges, but have some drawbacks and need lots of panels to operate. Then when they go
bad, it usually means a trip back to the states and a huge repair bill."

thanks for the input guys, I'll keep it in mind, they won't need it till the spring so I have a long time to look for one

How big a unit do you need? I have a propane/12V refrigerator in my Lance camper that I am going to pull and use my Fridge Freeze instead. I could
donate that. You guys going to be in the neighborhood any time soon?
