Loreto motels?

larryC - 10-17-2011 at 06:58 AM

Will be going through Loreto first week in Nov. on way to Agua Verde, and looking for suggestions on motels in Loreto that have fairly secure parking for truck/camper and boat trailer.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Tough parking at Coco, especially for a boat trailer. Otherwise nice.
Oaisas might work better.

I'm a fan of Coco's too Blanca but it took some maneuvering to get our full-size crew cab truck in their parking lot when there were a couple of other cars in there. As Ncampion says I don't know how LarryC could get his trailer in there.

Hotel Angra has an interior parking lot but it's another hotel that's not an option when the camper is on because of a low hanging arch entrance you have to drive under to enter the lot.

Many of the other hotel options are either street parking or a large, open lot like the Desert inn/pinta.

We've yet to find a solution for the lack of secure parking at hotels in Loreto for a truck-with-camper-towing-a trailer and have spent some sleepless, very HOT, airless, summer nights in RV parks there. But in November both Riviera and Tripui RV parks in the Loreto area would be very pleasant LarryC.

Hacienda Suites next to El Nido on the right side just past the Traffic Circle. They have a secured locked lot behind the hotel and we park prerunners, chase trucks with trailers in there regularly. They are on the web for reservations.

Loreto Shores Villas and RV Park

We stayed in the RV park last December. Basic, secure, nice showers, short stroll to a mini super and a beautiful beach. Saw other boat trailer folks staying there. Friendly manager. A bit tricky to navigate through town to get there.

Try Nellie's Place, she rents by the hour.

larryC - 10-18-2011 at 07:24 AM

Thanks for the info. I'll try one of them. I have staryed at the El Morro before and it was OK. Appreciate the help.

Why would anybody want to rent from Nellie's for only an hour?

El Morro? Didnīt know of an El Morro in Loreto. The one by Santa Rosalia is in a great location and has plenty of parking.

I second what was stated about Hacienda Suites.

On the topic of Cocoīs, since heīs right next to the Desert Inn, is it only me that has thought why in the world no one has bought that property and upgraded it? The place is old and tired, but fronts a long expanse of beach. From wht I understand, it has been up for sale for quite awhile. Yet, those Villas guys go and build WAY out of town. Go figure.

Diamana's is a B&B. Very good place. Right in the middle of town.:D

Hotel Angra, on Juarez across from the Pemex closest to Mex 1. We are there right now. Secure, gated parking, large rooms, pet friendly and well prices. Short walk to good food and nice people.

Where to Stay

Lengua - 10-19-2011 at 12:24 PM

Camper ,boat and trailer .

Well , it won't be too hot when you go so A/C shouldn't be an issue . I'd give Loreto Shores a try .Plenty of room there to get your truck and trailer in ,
Angra I hear is nice as well as Damiana and Cabanas de Loreto. At Cabanas de Loreto the Jacksons will let you park your truck inside the gates and the trailer can sit outside the wall . If you really want to go big time stay at the La Mision HOTEL and use the lot directly behing the hotel -security guard and all . La Riveria is nice with a great resturant.Although I think its a little tight manuevering .Try Loreto Shores first .

Are you sure they are closed? It has been for sale for a long time, but has been open for business. Although I haven't paid close attention, when I walk past it doesn't appear to be closed.
