Don't blame them one bit. No one trusts the police...
with good reason. durrelllrobert - 10-31-2011 at 10:30 AM

No one saw my childhood friend Phil Jones drink himself to death there either. Sad He survived a shark attack to die in Baja from alcohol.

Woooosh, I enjoy your topical/political posts,
Maggies is a little much for me, but I'm sure glad
the wife doesn't read Bajanomad. I was in TJ last
Sat. afternoon, a waiter handed me a flyer for his
restaurant, you know, come back ask for Pepe,
he told me 'be careful', I didn't think much of it
at the time, but wondered if he truly meant itWoooosh - 11-1-2011 at 05:06 PM
I still check in on Maggie every once in a while. I'm sort of "embedded" in Rosarito with my Mexican family here- so I do tend to see things from a
different perspective than most. I wouldn't read too much into the waiters' comments. When they start picking off tourists in TJ on a Saturday
afternoon it's pretty much "game over". My family still goes to TJ Saturday nights dancing and drinking and have never had a problem. Maybe your
looks or clothes didn't blend in and he was just being cautionary about pickpockets or getting scammed on a fake Rolex. When everyone crosses
themselves before they go out the door- you'll know it's not safe. So far my family just does that when they get in a car...
