Coco

baja Steve - 10-31-2011 at 12:45 PM

Anyone seen Coco lately? Or where he is at? And how he is doing? Will be in his area in about three weeks.

Phil S - 11-1-2011 at 06:55 AM

I've also wondered what's with Coco. We also will be cruising by in about two weeks. also from Oregon. Hi Steve You be having a safe trip down now!!

honda tom - 11-1-2011 at 07:40 AM

2 weeks also. If hes there sounds like he'll have company.

Phil S - 11-1-2011 at 12:35 PM

Your right about that. But only if someone will report back to us that he's there. And a recent comment was he wasn't?????? He loves being gifted with a bag of oranges for sure.

Ken Cooke - 11-1-2011 at 04:40 PM

My last trip to Coco's was in April, and he was in Ensenada at the time (according to his caretaker (foreground)).

Why are so many of your photos showing a Jeep with the hood up?:tumble::D (just having fun with ya Ken... I know... It's a 'Jeep Thing')

After 110,000 mi., the original metal water pump seal...didn't. The Jeep has taken me to Baja several times, so these things are beginning to happen with greater frequency. Do I want a new Jeep payment? No way!

The radiator has was emptying itself faster than I could keep it filled. Most of the cooling system was replaced 2 months later.

We were at his place in early September and the caretaker came by while we were hanging out and said he was still in Ensenada.

It was really sad to see his place empty. All the beer cans glittering in the sun and whirling in the wind just isn't the same without him.

jgletne - 11-4-2011 at 01:19 PM

I was in BOLA a couple of weeks ago and heard that Coco was indeed back home. Apparently his place was vandalized and he lost his old sign in books. Don't know about the panties.

bufeo - 11-4-2011 at 01:32 PM

Son-in-law, Andy G., spent some time with Coco about ten days ago. Everyone had a fine time. I'll check Andy's Facebook. He might have some photos up.

Nov., 2006 (Day after Baja 1000 went past)

Josh, Coco, Elizabeth

Roy and David get into the photo thanks to some bikers at Coco's Corner.

Coco shows my entry from January 2005 and the one from this day... 'got baja?'

It was good to see that Coco was doing well.

wish we could find the low life scum that thrives on trashing his place each time he goes to the hospital....

Coco . . .

salttram - 11-10-2011 at 11:35 AM

We stopped by mid-September and the caretaker told us he was in Ensenada for more surgery. He didn't make it sound very good and didn't seem too confident about him coming back.

If Coco's anything, he's a survivor. I hope to see him later this month but I won't hold my breath.

BajaDanD - 11-11-2011 at 08:48 PM

Saw Coco yesterday We pulled up and he road over to us on his Quad told us we better air down our tires.

rubencastillo - 11-11-2011 at 09:12 PM

Good to here,,sound's like he's back at his place..Hope to see him at the start of the Baja 1000, next week..:)

dtbushpilot - 11-11-2011 at 10:53 PM

After I took this picture Coco said to me "sometimes is good to be short"....no kidding:lol::lol:.....dt

GrOUper-GAr - 11-12-2011 at 01:04 PM

Good to hear he's OK and the HuMor is still intact dt.

(I think this surgery has been planned for a couple years to fix a prob with the last one-- as Coco explains on this 'o9 video) ...
Hopefully, it's more comfortable for him now, and a future of new & old friends and gOodTimes at his place.

I only know the legend of Coco's Corner from stories of
the Baja 1000 and from the movie "From Dust to Glory"...

He strikes me like a true Baja Legend...

Glad he's still alive and rocking it!

The one and only time I passed by Coco's Corner, he was not there. That was several years ago. I must go back again. This is a wonderful part of Baja with lots of history.

I've only been to Coco's Corner once but have read about Coco in BajaNomad.
In March my stepson and I visited the area but Coco was not there.

It seems I deleted the photo. try again! In March my stepson and I visited Coco's Corner. Nobody was there but we took a photo.

TMW - 11-26-2011 at 05:43 PM

We stopped by Cocos after the Baja 1000 race and he is doing great. Feisty as ever and full of vim and vinegar as they say. A bunch of 4 wheel cars and prerunners were there when we got there last Saturday the 19th.
