We drove down to Gonzaga Bay last week and noticed a major development or mine...or something...on the mountain to the West of Mex 5 about 50 miles
out of San Felipe. Do you know what that is? The rocks being blasted away are mostly red. I heard once that it was a gold mine but it doesn't look
like one now....major power supplies, water pipes, conveyor belts etc.
thanks,
BB

GOLD MINE: LA FORTUNA

Look for more old gold mines to re-open... at $1,600 an ounce it is profitable to mine again.
They have been working that mine for many years, we often pass it in the dark going south and it is all lit up. The big power lines to it were
installed many years ago off the San Vicente-San Felipe power towers.
