this is an excellent video describing the plight of humans to save the endangered Peninsula Pronghorn Antelope in our area, The Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve....those of you who speak spanish will enjoy it and those of you who dont will like the photography anyway.

I was fortunate to be around for the inception of this project and have seen it grow and succeed thanks to a combination of locals, the Ford Foundation, the Reserve staff and volunteers etc. It has been exciting to see the population grow and we now see them occasionall in the wild.

Felicidades on a job well done.

That is a wonderful video----very well done! I have seen a few other U-tubes about the program, but this one is the best. Thank you. It is a good program.

From when they had the other station open and were doing the selective breeding, here are a couple of photos of a baby less than 24 hours old being checked out by Jamie Morales V. before the baby was transported to the bigger reserve. Removal meant the mother gave birth again sooner.

And when driving in that area, do watch for escapees from the station. Sometimes they jump the fence and swim to freedom. One big problem is that they are not at all afraid of traffic, especially pick up trucks as they associate that with food.

These were right along the main Vizcaino highway. Four had escaped and they managed to recapture only three.

Great stuff. Thanks for sharing! I have seen endangered pronghorn by sheer luck in the south of Arizona... a massive storm was coming in and we just don't think they heard us.

These animals rock and I applaud those doing their best to keep them rocking!
