Sad---always sad.
Years ago, I worked with the wife of a Navy pilot. She was a psychologist. She said that every time a pilot was lost, her husband and the other
pilots always spent a lot of time figuring out why it would never happen to them. They always found that it was pilot error and an error they would
never make.
She said that it was what kept them going because if they had to admit that it could also happen to them, they would probably never fly again.
I just wonder if this also applies to those who engage in sports at their extremes. Just wondering. |
