rhintransit - 11-12-2011 at 09:24 AM

am planning to drive from Phoenix to Loreto around last week of November or early December. dates flexible. route flexible. would like to try he ferry route...Guaymas to Santa Rosalia, but would consider Tecate crossing and land route.
have never done the ferry but have driven the long route a number of times.
could meet in CA if you're coming that way.
u2u me if you are interested in traveling together. Roberta

may be interested, what dates and route are you thinking about? We are headed down Hwy 1 on 27th

I would be interested in the Tecate route. Check your U2U.

We may be crossing at Tecate about that date. We won't know exact dates until the 20th.

Consider the route from Mexicali through San Felipe down to Hwy 1, and then south to Loreto. We're taking this rt tomorrow. I'll report on it when I get to Loreto in about five days or less. Many reports have said this way has some road construction, but saves a ton of miles rather than going through Tecate.

please let me know how it goes...I'd like an update on how far the new pavement goes and what the road's like after that. my Subaru is AWD but a little low clearance. would definitely want company if I went that way.

as to the ferry route, the Guayman-Santa Rosalia one way is now 3200 p for my length vehicle. am not sure whether that includes the driver or not, if not, another 790, minus 20% INAPAM discount.

Ferry price

What size vehicle do you have that they quoted 3,200 pesos plus 790 pesos. Does the INPAM discount apply to both charges? Do you konw the charge for a 30 foot RV?
Thanks,
Howard

I have a car in the shortest category for price, under 'x' meters, exact length I can't recall right now.
the website touts 'special' rates right now.
I have no idea if the INAPAM discount applies to the vehicle but suspect it's only passenger. will ask when I call.
ditto no idea for cost for your RV. go to ferrysantarosalia.com for info.
