Paying import fee at Mexicali East gate

bonanza bucko - 11-14-2011 at 08:34 AM

We will go through the East Gate with an import fridge next week. Can you tell me exactly where and how you pay the import fee? We have never done this before. I'm mostly concerned with where to park the truck while I make the payment and get the documents.

Thanks,
BB

Just walk into the office and tell them you have an old refer in your truck, and ask which way is the dump.
They'll tell you what's next.

I had a new appliance once and brought it through the border, but not before rubbing a bit of grease and dirt on the outside to give it some age.
After ten minutes with a bottle of Simple Green and a Six-Pak of Pacifico, it looked like new.

i have told my story before........no receipt and it was half the price. The same but different every time. Nancy

Please tell me where you pay....how close to the inspectors...can you park easily...etc.

I will deal with how the deal goes down once I understand the layout.

Thanks,
BB

Just pull to the right and declare it and they will tell you where to park. It is very close and often right there in front of the office, Depends on how busy they are. The office is right there. I understand you now have to pay in pesos........I would have both dollars and pesos as you never know who you are going to be dealing with. It is very easy. Nancy

Stay to the right - they will direct you to the parking for inspection and you walk across the street for the bank. Easy

Thanks a bunch!

Just to confirm what others have reported stay to the right ( Voluntary Declaration)as you enter the Border. Small S turn right then left and park in stalls on left. Walk into the small office located very near to where you parked or they will come to see you.

Have your receipt and a smile on your face. They will bring you in the office after inspecting your load/item and direct you to the small bank 200' away. Once payment has been made return to the office with paid status paperwork. They will keep two copies and stamp you copy and your on your way.

Must have Pesos to pay at the Banco!!!

We completed our home below San Felipe two years ago and imported everything but the brick and slab right there at Mexicali East. Good Luck!

had almost a one hour wait in line at little building today. There were 10 people in front of me. They used my receipts and did not look at the vehicle. may have been because I had to park far away.

If you were coming from phx I would suggest san Luis as they are fast and ez
I have brought in a bunch of used stuff and most times they look at it and pass us

Ahh, makes sense.

The only correction that I have for one of the posts. WHen I had to pay at Calexico East, I was able to use dollars. They gladly took them, but it has been a few years since I have crossed goodies into Mexico.
