i bleive that it went through scorpion bay. my friend will be back from there wensday and will get the full scoop. bay of la got around an inch from
the storm and abrame says the roads are in good shape.

My nephew and buddies left Abreojos Saturday. The storm was headed straight there.
Heard that many people were stuck in San Ignacio due to 7 foot deep waters across hwy. Water level dropped to where it was crossable yesterday. No
word on damage to dirt roads yet.

the track looked simil ar to "hester the molester" back in the earky ninties, which crossed over abreojos. we got slammed by it about halfway down the
trail to abre at 1:30 in the am- had to camp out a couple of days to let the river subside so we could venture on into town.reprted winds at abreojos
that night were 100mph, and we felt every bit of , crammed in a land cuiser...

Looks like they probably got several inches out of the storm based on the rain rate and the size and speed of the storm cell.

The truck is packed and we head home to Loreto from Rosarito in the am. Planning on driving straight through so hopefully I can give an update on
roads Friday.
Spoke with friends in San Ignacio yesterday and they said the road if fine in that area.

Very little rain South of Santa Rosalia.
Almost no water running on any arroyo till Los Cabos.

I have spent the last 5 days in SAN IGNACIO where the water at the crossing a quarter of a mile SOUTH of the PEMEX got up to probably 4 FEET.... but
then I didn't spend the whole day there checking the surge. There was a line-up of trucks and cars waitung to get pulled thru by a nice sized tractor.
It cost 50 PESOS to get thru ..... he was working on a dozen and probably didn't do much more business than that as several cars tried the crossing
and had no problems. I went thru with my friend SANTIAGO in a VW FOX and had NO problems. I was sitting in the back seat and as we got to the center
the water was well over the floorboards.....and gushing in at me from under the door. We would have been a disaster if the little FOX stopped.
The water came from SAN FRANCISCO de LA SIERRA. You could see the RAIN coming down in the mountains 
I knew it was only time before the river swelled up.
The other river that parallels the highway comes from the SANTA ROSALIA area was up a little for a short time but went back to normal.
We went thru the crossing mentioned above just a 30 minutes ago and I don't think we even made a splash .....
Everything is back to normal with the lake just a little bit higher .... and everything else going to be a little bit greener ..... soon.

SAN IGNACIO

I was in such a hurry yesterday that I forgot to tell everyone that part of the road SOUTH of SAN IGNACIO was washed out. Probably 3 FEET into the
SOUTH bound lane as the road curves to the left headind for the THREE VIRGINS. I didn't get a KILOMETER marker but this morning walked back SOUTH from
SANTIAGO'S house at KM71 and didn't find it. I went back at least 2 KMs. It can't be much farther back.
When you get to KM 69 .... know that it is coming soon. There are CONES out but who knows how long it is going to take to do the repair.

Road report as promised.
We drove straight through from Cantamar area to Loreto yesterday. 13 hours and no delays other than usual traffic in and around San Quintin.
All clear until 2 miles north of the Pemex at Vizcaino and then just run off covering half the road, easily passable.
Did not see a washout south of San Ignacio but they were doing some work so maybe it's fixed.
The only other places are at K97 between Mulege and Loreto, that is the bridge washout from last year that they are repairing, the diversion is paved
so it's no hassel.
Last one marked and about 15 miles before Loreto, a washed out vado with gravel poured over it.
Did not see a cloud or any accidents so it was a great, if long day.

That was very considerate to give us the up date on the road... The flooded arroyo just north of Vizcaino is likely San Pablo, which is the drainage
from the giant canyon (with the famous cliff and cave paintings).
I look forward to a trip to Sur again... I have heard nice things about your Iguana Inn!

south of Vizcaino. Sounds like Julie knows the route and is used to dealing with the highway.
For the inexperienced, these potholes can do a LOT of damage to a vehicle. You can tell by the llanteras and Tallers set up next to them.

a friend just got back from scorpion bay and was there during the hurricane, he said that the storm blew rocks sideways and were hitting his truck
and just dumped buckets of rain on them. the road north and east was so messed up that they had to do the southern road and barely made it to the
pavement. the arroyos north had alot of water moveing through and a few were ify to get through. had good surf the whole time.

i was told last night that the bottom there got screwed up-a big hole in it at 3rd.may have to run down in a couple of weeks and check it out!
