Water Skiing?

Ateo - 11-16-2011 at 08:06 PM

I don't water ski (not lately - not since racing to Catalina - kind of more than kidding) but this looks like prime real estate.

First one with the answer of where this is gets a 6 pack of Tecates next time I'm SOB.

This is what the young guns do when the surf goes flat (hope you brought extra fins)

I'd love to try that someday. Probably need to do that almost year round at St. Rosalillita! I've never caught bigger than 1 footers, although I did see the marina breaking good last winter.

Ah shoot!

ateo.....my first guess WAS Coyote Bay...honest.

I posted this old 1973 photo, but then deleted it if favor of my Lake Chapala guess..my bad.

How about a 3-pack?

How about if we split the 6-pack next time I'm down to Coyote? Ateo, do you make deliveries? Jim

vgabndo - 11-17-2011 at 02:48 PM

I don't drink beer so what's the harm in jumping in this guessing game. I was going to guess Conception from the beginning but thought, NO, way too easy. If the contest was too easy for me to enter does that mean I won something? I guess not. I have skiing on my mind because last night's latest Warren Miller Ski movie was pretty exciting even for a guy with a senior citizen season's pass!

we're still water skiing here on the bay...

when greg was here we used his 15 foot metal boat with a 25hp engine...

...what fun...

I deliver when I'm around! Or I can charge shipping. Ahh screw it, 6 packs for all, next time I'm in your neck of the woods/desert.

Yes, I guess it was an easy one for you who know the Sea of Cortez. Me, I've spent about 1/10th of my time in Baja on the Sea of Cortez side, due to my surfing addiction. I'll buy you a gallon of your favorite water or drink, when I'm down there, just because I KNEW you really knew where this shot was from.

Pompano - 11-17-2011 at 08:25 PM

Muchas gracias, ateo...you're muy generous and remind me of this old Mexican saying,

"Uno corre tras la liebre y el otro, sin correr, la alcanza."

And the next 6-pack will be on me. Salud!

vgabndo - 11-18-2011 at 03:49 AM

Ateo!~ What a liberal game policy you enforce. I'll throw back a little agua pura en las rocas with you any time!

Bob and Susan - 11-18-2011 at 06:04 AM

ateo...beer down here comes in an "8 pack":lol:

gallesram - 11-18-2011 at 06:47 AM

I actually keep my boat in Mulege for skiing (not fishing); some of the most perfect conditions in the world for skiing. The Bay is quite a change from Lake Arrowhead, CA where 1,500 boats compete for space on a lake which is roughly 3 miles long and 2 miles wide (where I used to keep my boat). My Arrowhead friends can't believe the conditions down there when they come down with me for skiing.

Nice catch! Yes, I'm in a USA state of mind, thus the "6 pack", but I do have an "8 pack" of Pacifico Light in the garage. Ok, ok, 8 packs for everybody!

PS: Pacifico Light tastes like water.

Martyman - 11-18-2011 at 10:25 AM

great idea. I'm getting a tube for my next trip. I guess the old 40 caballos Johnson should haul my fat burro. Just hang on!

Pompano - 11-18-2011 at 10:27 AM

My beer comes in a '20-pack'...or a truck.

Bob and Susan - 11-18-2011 at 10:58 AM

no need for a boat to "dry tube":lol:

Nostalgia detour.

Bob...your drag brings back memories of the old Posada air strip..'pista'.

We used an old wheel dozer tire... and sometimes a truck frame...behind my GMC 3/4 ton. For many yearsDid the job until the military dug trenches and closed the strip as a possible drug LZ. Hmm? Like sure, a drugger's plane is going to land unobserved at POSADA? Hah!

Cypress - 11-18-2011 at 12:07 PM

Dragging the roads? Did that back way back when, a couple of hours before daylight, covered up all the old tracks, only fresh ones would be there afterwards. We'd drop the the tailgate and let the race begin.
