Job Openings in Baja?

LancairDriver - 11-17-2011 at 01:17 PM

One of the Wall Street Occupiers needs a job. Looks qualified. Any openings in Baja?

If he/she did get a job, which washroom would they use????

jbcoug - 11-17-2011 at 03:17 PM

Seems like that would be a pretty small niche when looking for a job. I know I haven't heard of any openings in my neighborhood. It may just be me, but, I would have done a little career research before spending 96k.

You know, in the 70's that was the degree you needed to work in a record store.

Just a Thought

When you only advertise yourself only with your area of study (and especially in this case), you have narrowed down the job opportunities severely.

Transgender counseling clinics - how many places are there?

Not being sarcastic, but this is a very narrow niche.

baronvonbob - 11-17-2011 at 04:01 PM

probably getting ready to audition for Dancing With the Stars

Woooosh - 11-17-2011 at 04:04 PM

Adding an MA from the University of Phoenix to her $96K BA would just get her a nicer sign.

Hello, baronvonbob

The sign holder is only talking the talk. There is no evidence of walking the walk.

The person you are referring to has been incredibly open and honest, to the point of being flayed publicly, about the transition.

I met Chaz years ago at his restaurant in Long Beach. He couldn't have been more gracious or kind. All he wanted to know was if the meal and service were up to standard and it was.

Just showing there is more awareness, a job may be forthcoming!
Possibly even justify the cost of advanced education, I have put two daughters through College:rolleyes:

Sandlefoot - 11-17-2011 at 04:28 PM

The sign MUST be a misprint. What college is going to give a degree in such a narrow field, and find some one that will pay 96,000 for it? Maybe P.T. Barnum was right!!!!!!

Riom - 11-17-2011 at 05:02 PM

It's a fake, photoshopped with a "handwriting" font.

Nobody is that consistent with each occurance of the same letter with real handwriting (see the way each "t" is undersized, long dots for i", messy base of the "s, casual "r", etc). Plus the perspective isn't allowed for.

motoged - 11-17-2011 at 05:06 PM

BA is a general education with a focus. An education is different than "training".

A BA does not prepare anybody for a job....it just indicates an ability to focus on interests and gaining some knowledge in those areas....it certainly is NOT a ticket for a job.

The sign-holder has not indicated their personal "persuasion"....just what they studied.

And who mentioned anything about Mr. Bono?

Bajahowodd - 11-17-2011 at 05:09 PM

Just read an article that said the best and brightest of out youth are all flocking to Wall Street.

Sadly, that would make it appear that the folks most capable of solving social and cultural issues is instead selling out to work for hedge funds.

That, ladies and gentlemen is that real state of the US economy. Some geniuses in the business colleges, long ago decided that the US as we knew it, did no longer have to exist. Manufacturing? Nah! Just sit at a laptop and play roulette with the financial markets.

On one hand, it would seems sad that this individual is probably in the hole for almost $100k for their college education. On the other hand, they may have done better going to Wall Street.

But what does this portend for the soul of America?

Sadly Enough

Gypsy Jan - 11-17-2011 at 05:19 PM

I thing that this $96k is comprised of spending on video games, easily aquired credit cards, internet gambling and iPhones.

This is the result of s self-assuming, self-entitled generation.

...and they are paying the price by living in their parents basements (the lucky ones).

Udo - 11-17-2011 at 06:04 PM

You het the nail right on the head, Jan.

What kind of STUPID degree IS that? Did they expect to get a job with those kind of credentials/ Really wasted $96,000. Whose fault is that?

NCIS or SCI eyes at work!

In taking a closer look at the writing, I think you are correct in the assessment.

Cabo has that need.

What has this to do with anything Baja-related?

Mulegena - 11-17-2011 at 09:14 PM

This has been photoshopped and is a shoddy pandering dig at many people.
Tasteless post, imo, and clearly has nothing to do with Baja.

Would the original poster kindly take this down now?

Ateo - 11-17-2011 at 09:21 PM

I think this is a total bullchit fake sign.

jbcoug - 11-18-2011 at 10:31 AM

It very well is a fake sign, but, the message of the creator is still sound. We have young, and not so young, people spending large amounts of money (often borrowed) to pursue totally unrealistic ends. There is no thinking ahead on many issues. I've certainly met individuals with degrees every bit as useless as the one portrayed in the original post. Fake sign or not, it is a real symbol of how people think today.

And people born between 1983 and 2010 are called Generation Y,

Why do we call the last group Generation Y?

Y should I get a job?
Y should I leave home and find my own place?
Y should I get a car when I can borrow yours?
Y should I clean my room?
Y should I wash and iron my own clothes?
Y should I buy any food?

Yeah...it is. Identical lettering, not as in hand drawn and other background indicators.
That said.....she should have allowed the face shot. Her daddy would be so proud.

Heather - 11-18-2011 at 04:21 PM

Just checked fees in the UC system. They range from $28,000 - $31,000 per year. So, seems like she got a deal only spending 96K !

There are even less when you narrow it down to Hispanic transgender counseling clinics, I'm sure. Talk about getting an education for the fun of it! Hard to feel too sorry for that person.

Such a deal
