I'm giving Thanks for Baja today

castaway$ - 11-24-2011 at 09:56 AM

With the somewhat heavy discussion going on on another thread about Baja bashing I would like to take pause today and give thanks for Baja.
My wife and I started exploring our love affair with Baja about 12 years ago and we feel we are just getting started.
In that time we discovered the beauty of the Mexican people, The ex pat residents and the fellow travellers.
The diversity of the landscape seems infinite, I could spend the rest of my life searching out the lush and stark beauty we find on every walk on the beach and every journey through the desert and mountains.
We have been thrilled by the exciting fishing opportunities that abound everywhere.
We enjoy the food and music.
We have been robbed due to our own stupity but we weren't hurt and we didn't lose much, we laugh about it now.
Our family has joined us on our adventures for some truly special memories we will always cherish.
We love baja and can't wait to get back, the economy has stalled our usual trip but were hoping we can figure out how to put together a budget trip soon.
Baja has been an intregal part of my marriage, after 15 years it seems at times it feels stale but when we head to Baja that all changes, it re invigorates our passion for each other through the magical time we spend together exploring and meeting new people.
There are some on this board we have met and there are many more we need to meet, but for today lets all lets put our differances aside agree to disagree and give thanks for the memories and great times we have all had in Baja, hold up your drink (whatever that may be) and give a toast to Baja.
Salud:yes:

Thanks for putting into written words what I think we all feel. As DENNIS said, "well said ".
I'm in total agreement with you, castaway$. ..
At a very experienced 65 years old there's not a whole lot that gets me really excited any more. However I always seem to get that little kid excitement back every time I go to Mexico. I too love to get into all the wonderful things it has to offer..........

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL WHERE EVER YOU ARE

Me too.

Everything you said Castaway$ and more.

I was thinking the other day, I don't know who or what I would be if I didn't have Baja in my blood. What would I get excited about? What would I daydream of? I can't even imagine that Paulina.

Thank you Baja for your people, the places, the friends I have in my life, the memories and the dreams for the future.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
