Restaurant!

fishingmako - 12-2-2011 at 12:42 PM

Hi all my Baja Nomad Friends!

It is my Birthday on Tuesday Dec 6, and I wanted to know the name of the Restaurant at the Newporter where a lot of you go, I remember a while back it was a place upstairs, that all said is good.

Or if you know something in Ensenada that I don't? I want the Puerto Nuevo style Lobster, not just Lobster, since I live close to Ensenada would be closer but don't mind the drive.

What should I look for in Price? really don't like being ripped off.

Thanks for all the inf.

La Cocedora De Langosta

Do you know of this restaurant? Has excellent Lobster and many other seafood dishes.

La Cocedora De Langosta is located at the Ensenada harbor just infront of the parking lot for sport fishing.

I don't know of the place you are asking about.

The other special place is MUELLE TRES, right on the malecón, about 100 feet to the right of the fish market.

Casa de Langosta, In Puerto Nuevo. If you take the first southbound entrance into the to Puerto Nuevo village, it's on the corner, 2nd block on your left....... upstairs

Bahia Mariscos has live lobsters in tanks. You can order them prepared "Puerto Nuevo Style" (deep fried) or "al vapor" (steamed), which gives you a more juicy bug. But, whatever, they serve delicious food all around.

In Rosarito, Vince's Fish Market and Restaurant also has live lobsters and the same goes for what I said above. Vince's has an extensive menu (if it isn't fresh, they don't serve it) and everything is delicious.

Vince's is located in a rustic, wood-sided, large, two-story building with an entrance consisting of a bridge across a trickling water stream, about two blocks north of the Rosarito Beach Hotel, on the same side of main street, Benito Juarez Blvd.

Thanks all, I have seen Bahia Mariscos before and wanted to try it, so I think the time has arrived, this may be the time for some lobster.

Thanks again to those that gave me the info.

Great place, BUT, does anyone even go to Puerto Nuevo these days??

A little over a year ago, we stopped in around 8pm, and the town was deserted. We were the only folks eating there, and it was a Friday!

Puerto Nuevo

Yes, go there quite often with friends or relatives that visit. Puerto Nuevo is alive and well. Just have to time your visits. We prefer a late lunch (2PM) avoids most of the crowds, then we shop the curio stands.....never go on a weekend.

Plenty of other great places to eat in Ensenada such as Muelle Tres, Boules, Ratatouilles and Icarius.....out of the way and little known, but great food.

We ate there last night. At the big Ortega place all the way at the bottom. They had a great Marirachi band (I know,I didn't spell it right) that had violins, trumpets and all.... food was good, it's just the atmosphere. Not many people though, but we were there early by Mexican standards.

Muelle Tres is awesome! The ceviche is amazing :bounce: David is the owner and he said go sit down, I'll make something special for you, and he did! Dunno if he has lobster tho.

I really liked Mahi Mahi restaurant in Ensenada too.

Great food but NO lobster at Muelle 3, you have to walk over to La Cocedora De Langosta.
