Nice photo!!! But...are you sure it is not photoshopped??? All the merchandise seems mostly properly placed on the truck...the straps seem tight and
well wrapped. Nothing appears in imminent danger of falling off.
Obviously this cannot be Mexico mcfez - 12-3-2011 at 08:23 AM

getting garage sale items and going to Baja
to sell at their Segundas, 2nd hand storesbacquito - 12-3-2011 at 07:28 PM

I had a friend of mine almost hit a buzzard in Florida. The buzzard was attempting to avoid being hit by my friend's car and was trying to fly. In
order to lighten his load the buzzard vomited. The buzzard lived and my friend's car smelled horriblenbacc - 12-3-2011 at 10:36 PM

In high school (l951) I owned a 49 yellow Willys Overland Jeepster (2dr convertible) One day on the highway, a pheasant decided to fly across the
road, just as I approached the same area. Jeepster 1. Pheasant 0. It hit right at the top of the windshield, and the top was up. Blood & gu~~~
(you know the rest of the story) Took two days of scrubbing with soap & water to remove the red liquid part. And the windshield didn't crack.
Amazing tough little car. Such fond memories of this car, I'd love to know where there was another one. If priced right, I'd buy it.J.P. - 12-4-2011 at 10:27 AM

Take a look at the road posts...
Mexico is the only place that has those.
Right, DK?

Interesting thread!
I hit a deer years ago when I lived in Miami, Florida. Didn't think much of it until about three or four days later (in the hot humidity there)
something started to smell really bad when I turned on the A/C. Some deer meat had rotted on my radiator, and stunk really bad. It was not fun

Actually, trucks packed like this are common in Baja, especially up north. Those that can, cross into the US to buy second-hand merchandize for resale
in Mexico (as someone pointed out above). They're called "fayuqueros," and are a sort of traveling salesman--forming a vital link in the recycling of
second-hand merchandize from California to Baja California.
When I brought my FM-3-authorized household effects shipment across the border, I contracted one of these folks to take my stuff from San Diego to
Ensenada, where I had made other shipping arragements to get it to La Paz. I can attest to the packing abilities of these guys, nothing short of
impressive.Phil S - 12-9-2011 at 04:29 PM
From some of the packing I've seen of these 'fellows', be prepared for a complete refinishing of the wooden stuff, and the enameled stuff, a new paint
job will be required. Except for those that 'wrap' the stuff with blankets. That's a different story. But I see few of these. Just pack it &
stuff it. Reminds me of the way they train stations in Japan "pack" their cars with passengers.
