shari - 12-4-2011 at 08:47 AM

wow, that is pretty widespread...must have been in the gulf along the fault! what with those dramatic sunrise photos...looks like a real fire and brimstone sunday!!! wonder if there will be more this morning...take those booze bottles off the top shelf!

Bob and Susan - 12-4-2011 at 08:49 AM

my guess..6.0...but that's just a guess

shari - 12-4-2011 at 08:50 AM

Bob and Susan - 12-4-2011 at 08:58 AM

Juan del Rio - 12-4-2011 at 08:59 AM

Punta Pequena felt it too See http://www.ssn.unam.mx/ for initial location

5.2

Howard - 12-4-2011 at 09:03 AM

Good guesses by all. Hope all is OK. This posts reminds me of a seen in L. A. Story with Steve Martin when they are all around a dinner table casually guessing at the strength of an earthquake.

The 5.2 was centered 1/2 way between Mulege and Loreto in the middle of the peninsula

David K - 12-4-2011 at 09:07 AM

Very near Comondu Viejo from the looks on those maps... that's about halfway between Bahia Concepcion and San Jose Comondu.

EDIT: USGS maps show it further south, and directly west of Loreto. I hope there wasn't any damage to Mision San Javier.

Report from Mulege:

Just spoke with family member in town, north river road hillside home.

They did not feel an earthquake this morning. No idea. Will check back this evening.

mulegemichael - 12-4-2011 at 12:13 PM

man, i'm glad there was an earthquake...i thought i was having the "big one" cause my wife was standing right next to me and didn't feel a thing...i watched our big ol flatscreen wobbling back and forth

Paula - 12-4-2011 at 12:36 PM

It looks like it was centered very close to Comondu and to San Javier. As we left the festival up there yesterday afternoon there were more people going up than coming down. I hope everything is OK up there-- I'll be hearing from people who spent last night later this afternoon.

Paula - 12-4-2011 at 07:20 PM

Not just OK, nobody even noticed it. Well, it WAS a good party!

Woooosh - 12-4-2011 at 08:38 PM

wessongroup - 12-4-2011 at 08:45 PM

Bob and Susan - 12-5-2011 at 07:03 AM
