We just got our Sentri passes and car sticker.
Can't believe I was such a Luddite to have waited so long.
Coming home after the Baja 1000, which we figured would be super busy, 15 minutes at Otay!
Un-F'ing beliebvable!!

Do you recall how long it took to get your Sentri from the time you submitted your application? I, too, waited longer than I should, thinking the
passport card would do the trick....NOT!
I turned my application in about three weeks ago and it was acknowledged as having been received.bajaponderosa - 3-26-2012 at 01:36 PM
It took us 8 weeks to receive our approval to submit a interview. We scheduled our interview in San Luis 1 week later. Paid the balance due, cars got
tagged and received our passes 10 days later.
San Luis office was such a nice pleasant interview and staff.TecateRay - 3-26-2012 at 03:58 PM
Is a truck with a camper allowed under the SENTRI program. Their website doesn't say anything about it, but I have heard comments from some folks ...
Camper Q
bajaguy - 3-26-2012 at 04:08 PM
A camper shell is OK, but not a full blown live-in camper.....also, no trailers of any kind
Dittos to THAT

After everything else was done and just before walking out for the vehicle inspection, the wife mentioned "Camper" in passing and the CBP guy says
"OH, you can't have a Camper. It defeats the whole purpose".
"HUH" ?
I say "I KNOW lots of people with the pass that have Camper Shells".
"SO, it's a Camper SHELL, not a Camper ?. That's OK, then ".
WHEW.
THAT was a scary moment.TecateRay - 3-26-2012 at 08:21 PM
I guess my Callen camper "shell" is out then, since it does go over the cab and I have a fold down bed??MICK - 3-26-2012 at 09:42 PM
they told me that they need to be able to see the whole back of the truck.
shells are ok if they have no cabinets or enclosed areas like drawers
good luck

Just got mine done yesterday, after a 12 week wait. They told me they were behind in processing applications in San Diego. Had the appointment in san
Ysidro and took the car in for the sticker in Otay. They DO NOT do any type of inspection as they often mention, they just make sure you have no
broken windows and you have both plates. Funny thing happened...the agent that was doing this at Otay gave my sticker to another vehicle by "mistake"
(hot chick). 1 hour later they figured it out and gave me my new sticker and sent me on my way. I applied as a family $122 per person, and added two
vehicles, and yes no trailers, the tailgate on your truck needs to be closed and you have to declare everything you carry......now the 7-10 day wait
for the Sentri card starts...akshadow - 3-27-2012 at 07:40 PM

Assume you mean everything you carry that you bought in Mexico.Cascade - 3-28-2012 at 09:05 PM
I was told that the Sentri people have a notoriously super high standard in the form of a zero tolerance policy and thus will automatically disqualify
an applicant even if the applicant has just one arrest and that arrest did not lead to a conviction, anyone know if that's true?bajario - 3-28-2012 at 09:10 PM
No I have had numerous umm run ins from 16-24 y.o. No felonies though. I was honest and they accepted me.bajaguy - 3-28-2012 at 09:10 PM
depends on the circumstances.........and you can appeal a denialCascade - 3-28-2012 at 09:16 PM
Is a DUI a deal killer/disqualifier?bajaguy - 3-28-2012 at 09:22 PM
Depends........I know people with DUIs that have been declined, and others that have been approvedbajario - 3-29-2012 at 05:13 AM
DUI is not a reaon for rejection. At least in my case. I don't know the circumstances of every case. Some may view it different.
