a couple days ago just after depositing all my dollars in the bank and only getting 12.06 at Banamex....we went to fill up our gas barrels and lo and
behold the exchange rate on the dollar was 13%!!!! dang
so the moral of this story is to pay for gas in dollars! in Vizcaino at least.jeffg - 12-8-2011 at 10:43 AM
I think the real moral to the story is that Banamex is giving you the shaft! The peso has been at 13.5 or higher for quite a while.Bajaboy - 12-8-2011 at 10:50 AM
Today's rate is 13.51castaway$ - 12-8-2011 at 11:22 AM
Curious, my little sidebar on the computer for exchage rate is at 13.8, will it vary based on where you get your information? or is it just a function
of time as in when I look at it versus when Bajaboy looked?shari - 12-8-2011 at 11:44 AM

Actually, I think they do, but that's before the fees are considered, and if they had their way, there wouldn't be anything left after fees.Hook - 12-8-2011 at 04:54 PM
We've learned the hard way that you dont go up to the Banamex window for exchanges. That's where you get the shaft. Or, depositing dollars into your
Banamex account.
The Banamex ATMs consistently give about a peso and a quarter higher than the windows over here.
The Santander/BofA shuffle is still the way to go. No one over here has found a cheaper way to turn dollars into pesos.
Pray for a Santander in Vizcaino, Shari................Nan&D - 12-8-2011 at 05:38 PM
yes, the bank's business can conflict with personal business! For transferring Canadian $ to Baja, we prefer Western Union. N
