Corridor 2000/Toll Road Update

bajaguy - 12-8-2011 at 11:35 AM

From a reliable source in Ensenada:

Just an update… I had my wife call the Jefe at the toll road office to ascertain if the new off-ramp was open yet. He said it wouldn’t be open until at least the 15 of the month. The holdup is the new Toll booth being constructed at the bottom of the ramp onto Blvd 2000.

The thing is getting in pretty bad shape they need the money to start their perpetual repair.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Yea, a new northbound off ramp from toll road to new Blvd 2000 toll road but no provisions for coming back south. Still will have to take free road from Popatola until you get to Puerto Nuevo

I'm not sure I understand, they want you to pay a toll to exit the toll road and get onto hiway 2000? Is that what you are saying?

That would be to pay for the portion of the toll highway you used up to that point... really, you are only not using a very small amout as the next toll booth is not far north of Corridor 2000 jcn, by Rosarito.

The toll collected at San Miguel Village (nearest Ensenada) is not for the entire section to Rosarito, so they want you to pay for the part you used, when you exit the toll road onto the free Corredor 2000.

I don't understand your question?

There are 3 tolls if you stay on 1-D... If you leave it before the next toll, but have used up a good portion of 1-D, they naturally want you to pay for what you used. There used to be other exit/ entrance tolls... which they either ended or closed the exit.

When you get on in Ensenada you pay 30 pesos to the next toll booth which is about 2miles past the blv,2000 exit

Yes, but what you pay near Ensenada is for 1/3 of the toll highway... ie, to about La Mision or Cantamar... It is weird logic, but I do believe that is what it is all about... unless it is to pay for the exit construction... as the Corredor 2000 is a FREE highway.

2000 wont be much of a toll road if they dont close some or most of all the roads AROUND ALL THOSE APARTMENT PROJECTS

durrelllrobert - 12-9-2011 at 11:38 AM

It's my understanding that entire length of Correador 2000 will eventually become a toll road, crossing over the Tecate toll road and continuing north to connect with the new US POE at the new CA 11 toll road to be built east of Otay Mesa. The requirement for a parallel free road is satisfied by the TJ - Tecate free road.

Never happen. As was mentioned there are entire communities built around this access road.

Toll Road south Rosarito

bajaguy - 12-9-2011 at 04:50 PM

Can you get on the toll road southbound at the PEMEX in south Rosarito without paying the toll or is the toll booth south of the PEMEX???

Terry28 - 12-9-2011 at 04:52 PM

I'm pretty sure it is just south of the gas station.....

The old Toll boot was just south the new one is possibly 3/4 mile south. Its a little out of the way comins south but in bad weather I think its safer.

How to Avoid Paying for the Toll Road South of Rosarito

Gypsy Jan - 12-9-2011 at 05:26 PM

Drive south down the free road to the Cantamar/Primo Tapia on ramp (the Puerto Nuevo southbound on ramp has been sealed off by steel rails for the last few years).

Leave the toll road at the next exit, which has a very easy to spot sign, "La Fonda/Alisitos", and then follow the free road through the La Mision valley and up into the highlands which will take you to Ensenada.

Don't drive this route after dark. It is a winding, twisty two-lane road that the commercial truckers use to avoid the tolls.
