Just to announce that all four of my Baja books are now available for $9.95 as eBooks for Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble’s Nook. A nice feature of
the Kindle page is you can click on the book’s cover picture and instantly read the first few chapters…. if you don’t mind the absence of page breaks.
I’ve done a little final editing and added scores of new photos, and in the case of Into a Desert Place added a brief preface… some 25 years after the
end of the trip.
As for the printed books, Into a Desert Place is now out of print, Journey With a Baja Burro is on its last hoofs, and with the rise of eBooks I doubt
I’ll ever reprint the other two. But I have signed copies of all four still available. To celebrate the season and the launch of the eBook editions,
I’ll mail all four to US addresses for a grand total of just $45USD. Includes media mail shipping and tax. Mark the order "Nomad Special" and say
how you’d like the books signed:

All four of my Baja eBooks are definitely $9.95 each on Amazon Kindle as per the links. As an author, if you select a price above $9.99US you take a
big hit on your royalty payment. So not sure if the $11.95 price refers to someone selling a used copy via Amazon or a discounted paperback?

Nook allows you to download a free sample... and they offer a free reader for PC so you don’t need a Nook tablet to look at it. Here’s the link to the
free download.
Also available Nook for iPad, Nook for Mac and Nook for Android, etc.
I must confess I don’t actually have a Kindle or Nook yet, but I am rather fond of reading eBooks on my PC. And I’ve really enjoyed editing and
revamping my Baja books for eBook format, especially adding old photos. That’s why all my books are quite a sizeable download… 4-6 MB.
As for future projects… my wife and I are starting work on an illustrated eBook of the mushrooms of Northern Michigan… our summer hobby in the North
Woods.
And in this season of overindulgence I keep looking at my boots and wistfully day dreaming about shedding about ten pounds, getting out the binocs and
the field guides and “Marooning” myself on a Baja island with maybe just a little more beer than last time, and hopefully a few less nocturnal visits
from poachers and drug runners.
Steinbeck and Ricketts very sensibly took 2160 beers (“of two species”) on their Sea of Cortez adventure.
