I guess it's as good a place as any to dump a body.

norte - 12-14-2011 at 07:37 PM

Maybe people will now believe it is a dangerous place. I remember all the nay sayer experts on San Quintin from a couple of months ago.

Pompano - 12-14-2011 at 07:47 PM

I motorhome-camped at the nice Los Olivos RV Resort next to Jardines landscaped restauant just 4 days before this tragic event.

My trip report would be inappropriate at this time...so I will just present these photos of Jardines and the area.

A stranger to us, Sr. Campos is dead and may God have mercy on his soul.

Jeeezzzuuuuusss.......here we go again.

Ateo - 12-14-2011 at 10:09 PM

I'm heading there next month. Guaranteed it ain't a guero from San Diego. Probably just a dead guy behind the garden.

Bummer for Jardines fans, but ain't keeping me away. Someone was just killed behind my house last night. We picked him up and threw him in the ditch. Don't tell Oside PD.

Kidding.

I think you should start a new forum called --uh-- " chitty Things of Baja."
Then the rest of us could continue to enjoy the b-tchin stuff that most of us log on to read. I'm really getting tired of sifting thru the murders, robberies, and all the other crap to get to the fun stuff that most of us log on to read, and enjoy. Murder and Mayhem are all part of the 6:00 news---Just what we go to Baja to get away from. Ripoffs, and road conditions and new places to see are what I signed on for, not a body count .
God help the lost souls and give comfort to their families, but at the risk of sounding heartless, I want to read about the good times mostly.

What? The title of this thread isn’t enough to steer you away, you need a special forum? Even after reading the title you chose to cick and read it.

I guess I took a little too long to post my response, Torch beat me to it.

This forum is "Baja News". You're saying you want it to become "Baja Good News"? This is one case where the forum and the title you should be enough to tell you if you want to read it or now. No gun to your head.

Crime happens anywhere. If the guy that got whacked had 3 bullet holes in him I think it is likely that he pi$$ed in someones cornflakes or he was "running" with the wrong crowd.

News article on TalkBaja® indicates that he was under investigation for various crimes including armed robbery and vehicle theft. Maybe some vigilante justice?

Crime does happen everywhere, but most places investigate the crime with honesty and integrity, both for the job that they perform, and for the victims. Ya know, as much as we don't like hearing it, or admitting it, Mexico has a long way to go before people feel safe.

In a twisted way

I am glad that this post hit when it did...I am a huge fan of Carmens and Guillerimo's JARDINES...none of these pictures does it any justice...gotta walk through this paradise to appreciate it...

Why am I happy? Because it was getting harder and harder to get a room and now, for at least a little while, it should become easier.

It seems that bodies are dropped all over Baja without any real pattern...East LA or Compton anyone????

That's where dead bodies compliment the landscape, Bernie. Not so in SQ. Thanks.

Dennis, That is, I think, the point

I, for one, am not very happy if this great place has to suffer bad publicity.

Don't know when you last stayed there, but they did build out to something like 20 rooms last year.

And let's not overlook Esmeralda and Carlos, who operate a great restaurant.

Jaime and I were down there three weeks ago

Baja Bernie - 12-20-2011 at 06:40 PM

one day going south and two days, relaxing, going north.

We hit it twice every year...The male deer under the trees is one of the things we have gifted to Bill and Carmon over the years...They have given Jaime Volcanic rocks and plants on many occasions.

We will be there even if we have to crawl.
