La Paz, BCS - Due to instructions from the director of the Municipal Transit Police, General Ángel César Amador Soto, the officers of the Transit
Police do not have authorization to solicit donations tomorrow, December 22, as they have traditionally done each year to commemorate the Day of the
Traffic Policeman.
This measure has generated unease among the police, as it has eliminated with the stroke of a pen a means they have always counted upon to provide
gifts to their families. Furthermore, these are voluntary donations with which the citizens give recognition for their efforts.
Notwithstanding, now the situation has changed, and moreover, General Amador Soto has announced there will be sanctions for those policemen who
solicit donations from motorists.

..of course those who wish to donate voluntarily should feel free to run a stop sign tomorrow.

This is a very good move, the traffic this time of year is terrible and the police on every corner collecting just make it worse.

I guess the officers who came by the house yesterday for "Police Day", armed with flyers, never got that memo!!! Hey, I gave them 100 pesos and know
they know who I am. Might save me a ticket some day.
