anybody watched the video? all I can say with year's of running a cat and mono's.cat's win,,hand's down on all aspect's and performance and yes I
expect some fool's with a little time in a boat to give me flak..I lite the fire, but the thruth need;s to be out ,, watch that video and then when
it;s a snoty day,, let's go for a ride !! talk is cheapIslandbuilder - 12-25-2011 at 12:50 PM
After 40+ years in monohulls, my next boat will be a cat. Softer ride, better fuel economy and less draft. In smaller cats, the roll can be a bit
snappy, but that is a small negative against all the other positives.captkw - 12-25-2011 at 01:50 PM
HOLA ,not sure as to what you mean about snappy roll????Islandbuilder - 12-25-2011 at 02:23 PM

Like all boats, a cat will lay in the trough when drifting. Small boats, cats especially, have a quick rolling motion in the trough, I find that
uncomfortable.
Bear in mind that most of my boating has been in deep-draft full displacement boats, trollers, and tug-shaped stuff. They roll deeply, but slowly.
It's what I'm used to....
catt's

that's what I thought you were thinking, its a little diff in the trough, I prefer it,very little movement, and you dont have to hang on....and keep
your weight light and lowIslandbuilder - 12-25-2011 at 04:09 PM
I think it depends on the sea state. A small monohull boat will roll MORE then the oceans movement, a cat should move the SAME amount. But it might be
a little more jerky.
All that in mind, I will still be looking for a cat when we sell our current boat.
What size rig do you have, capt? Attach a pic, if possible.comitan - 12-25-2011 at 04:22 PM
Easy beach launch anywhere, with a D-9!! 805gregg - 12-25-2011 at 05:58 PM
The problem with power cats is too little beam (for trailering) a 26' sailing cat has a 17' beam, plus they are slow and lose cabin space.
slow
