Metting place at the border

Bajame - 1-1-2012 at 09:22 AM

Meeting up with someone at the border and need to know a good place to meet. Any ideas? They have never been before. Thanks for your help.

North of the border, south of the border, San Ysidro, Otay, Tecate, Mexicali, or ???

MEETING PLACE

John M - 1-1-2012 at 09:57 AM

TJ bound?

South on the I-5 from San Diego the last U.S. exit is "Via de San Ysidro"

At the bottom of the off-ramp make a right turn, stop sign in another 50 feet. Continue straight, across the street is a big, two-story Mexican Insurance building on the right. Huge parking lot.

Here ya go!

my 2 cents

burger king at dairy mart road
about 3 miles north

a place to sit eat and p**

its on the east side of the freeway and easy on and off

if you go all the way to the border there may be alot of traffic crossing and its hard to get on the freeway

If they were expecting an easy, non-congested place to meet at the worlds busiest border crossing it won't happen. McDonald's is just a highly visible landmark, nothing more.

Outlet stores

Actually in my experience, the outlet stores area is very nice and has McDonald's and some extremely nice restaurants as well, I personally never had a problem getting back on to the highway..of course...the wait to get into Mexico is always a problem at rush hour.

lately the traffic is being slowed by the usa people..."Looking"

bumper to bumper and really hard to "nose in" if your not a frequent crosser (crazy driver)

take my word it can be difficult to get on the freeway from the outlet mall area and i go there just about every trip

slow going...

EnsenadaDr - 1-1-2012 at 10:26 AM

You mention lately...any coincidence with the Christmas shopping crowd by chance??
