I've seen more livestock along the highways north and south in the past week than I ever recall seeing in the past 24 years or so.
Cattle, horses, goats, etc....
Had a rather close call with a horse on Hwy 19 yesterday between Todos Santos and CSL.

That may be because of the rains. It looked like a pasture out there in places along the highway. The animals are taking advantage.KaceyJ - 1-2-2012 at 08:06 PM
That's precisely why I asked David about some offroad lights. The number of animals right now seems more than usual.
When it's cold they seem to gravitate to the warmth of the asphalt and a little rain grows grass along the highway first.
So that's why they're there.fdt - 1-2-2012 at 10:04 PM
All I can say is I wish I had your livestock problems right now as the closest I am to that is going out and feeding the dogs stuck at home in
Tijuana. I would trade this any time for dodging horses on hwy 19. fdt - 1-2-2012 at 10:13 PM
Hey why don't you give the horse a ride?

Flashing lights and cattle crossing signs

Recently returned from 10 weeks in BCS. There are more herbivores than usual grazing the roadside grass. On-coming traffic would flash headlight
warnings. I did the same.
Several times I noticed cattle crossing signs shortly AFTER I passed the critters. Can't trust those vegetarians, you'd think they would do their
shoulder dining after, not before, the signs.
