I placed this link because so many folks said they had never heard of these shots or how they could protect against oneumonia.

Hope this is helpful information

Great post, when my Mother was alive I always made sure she stayed current with her pneumonia vaccine.

Also a Shingles vaccine is an other adult vaccine one should consider. Although expensive and may not be covered by insurance, if you are the one in three adult senior citizen that develops this condition you will wish you had spent the money. Especially if it attacks the face or eyes which can cause blindness.

It's HELL to get OLD!

Consider doing more thorough research about pneumonia shots before you take one. Weigh the risk versus reward and read the insert carefully.

Bernie and Karen---IMHO, both are giving good advice and many do not know about either one of those vaccines.

Yes, almost all vaccines and or medicines can have terrible side-effects and many can kill you. Aspirin, Tylenol, cold medicines, etc. Natural herbal meds can be dangerous---echinacea caused my blood pressure to rise dangerously. So all is with a certain level of risk.

Glad we both have had our pneumonia vaccines.

I just got my Pneumonia shot along with a tetanus but have to wait 30 days between Pneumonia and Shingles. Everyone should check out what they are getting and consult their doctor.
