Nice angle that you can still see the eagle, without the trees planted that hide it from other sides!

Thanks Ken. Actually we were headed north but were temporarily stranded in GNO (no diesel!!). I was just wandering around in the morning looking for photo opps! Diesel finally arrived later in the morning and after filling up we started the trek home.

It;s been a while since that happened. Was Vizcaino out as well? Jesus Maria?

My recollection was that Vizcaino was out and we arrived in GNO on empty in both tanks. We couldn't leave GNO until we got some fuel. They were only out for one day and there are worst places to be stranded. Once we finally filled up in GNO we easily had enough to get to El Rosario so we didn't stop in Jesus Maria.

GN is a great place to be stranded as it has so many hidden beauties to photograph...try the dunes someday brother Ken...outstanding images and shapes there. There are lots of eateries, clubs, sportsbars, billiards, not mention shorebirds!!!! I remember one new years eve when the vehicles were lined up for miles at the GN station...the line streched a long way winding through neighbourhoods...people were selling food to the stranded motorists and it was kinda festive.

Was there anyone checking cards at the border station? I have heard it's been very sporadically manned of late.

bigzaggin this was almost 8 years ago. Nobody then was checking tourist cards, but they were spraying and taking your produce.

Beautiful one Ken! Thanks.

RE: gas stations, over the last few years we have found that the one in San Ignacio can and does run out of gas.
