El Mejor Pan (Bread) de Tecate in Rosarito

While hubby was in the Telcel office straightening out a mistake in our bills, I walked over to the tiny space. The owner, Gloria, attached herself to me with questions about the best way to reach the English speaking expats in Rosarito.

We talked at length, "How do you know about us?" I told her about my respected internet friend. Dining Diva and how, completely, coincidentally, I noticed the shop on the same week that DD posted about her visit to the original bakery in Tecate.

She wanted advice about how to get her message out to the English speaking residents of Rosarito, so I gave her contact info about the various expat social and charitable organizations here.

I asked Gloria if she baked in house. Yes! I asked if they used a wood burning oven like in Tecate. Yes!

While we were talking, the very tiny shop was flooded with children and adults from the nearby private school which had just let out, so I didn't get much of a chance to survey in detail her baked goods, but I noticed a tray with beautiful lemon curd squares wiyh a lattice pastry topping, many interesting looking and smelling breads, empanadas with different fillings and there are a number of savory goods; oval shaped breads with cheese and meat inside.

Hubby mentioned my interest in the bakery to his favorite Telcel cashier, and she said, "They are the best."
