The New Northbound Off Ramp from the Toll Road to Blvd. 2000 is Now Open

Gypsy Jan - 1-24-2012 at 07:34 PM

Passed by the new off ramp today. It is open for business with toll booths on the transition.

Tried to read the price for the ride, but the signage was too far away for me to pick up the details.

Sorry.....just saw that you couldn't get that info.

Looked ready last week when we came thru, dudes were prepping the lanes. Thanks for the update.

Dennis, There is a Family Debate Going

If you get off the toll road at Puerto Nuevo and then travel to Blvd. 2000 on the old approach, do you have to pay a toll? I say no, hubby says yes.

If you are on the toll road and use the new off ramp, you definitely have to pay a toll. I say it is the same ($28 MN) as the toll station in Rosarito, hubby says, "No, it is a shorter commute, the price will be lower."

So far, it is all conversation with no facts, but that is the fun of it.

Thanks Jan........None of these gates are tied to the others on price. It like 85Ps to go the 16 miles from 2000 to Tecate.
None of the prices bother me. I just try to get to point "B" with the least amount of stress.

It Will Be Definitely Less Stressful Using the New Off Ramp

It is well-signed and nicely graded.

The free road is a mine of pot holes and the 1D through Rosarito is a mess because they are resurfacing and you are choked down to one lane north and south. It is a nightmare at night. I am not criticizing the work, but it is very dangerous after dark if you are not familiar with the road; when the two lane road abruptly cuts down to one the only dividers are plastic orange cones.

I have used the Puerto Nuevo off ramp many time to get to hiway 2000 and there is no toll. I can't imagine why they think it is necessary to charge a toll to get off the toll road 7 miles farther north at the new hiway 2000 exit.
Larry
I agree that it will be worth the toll to not have to drive the pot holed free road.

Still free, Dennis.

maybe the toll you pay at the blvd 2000 off ramp is for the road you just travelled.

It is... Corredor 2000 is a free highway. The toll at the 1-D interchange is to pay for the interchange and/ or the section of 1-D you use that you didn't pay for yet (having missed the Rosarito South toll booth).

And great news as far as being able to trim time off the trip.

Obviously, for those who wish to continue North to the toll booths at Rosarito, it make basic sense that the toll upon exit at Blvd 2000 should be about the same.
